Summary
Satoru tries, but he knows he doesn't have what it takes. His words won't convince him. He can't force Suguru too far, because he's afraid of being hated by the only thing he loves. He's strong, the Strongest, maybe (alone, something in his mind whispers) but he's entirely too weak to save Suguru.
It all feels worthless. He exorcises and he trains and he resets his own body every second he is awake, but it's all pointless because he comes back to the dorms and Suguru is there, rotting.
Even if he knows what is happening, Satoru cannot fix it. It snaps into place one day when he finds Suguru puking nothing but stomach acid alone in the bathroom at 3 in the morning, tears running down his pale and sweaty face. Satoru sits with him in the tiny stall, basically on his lap, and lets Suguru rest his sticky face in the crook of his neck while he runs his hands over his hair.
Sorry, he tries to convey with his hands, all while his sleep-deprived mind thinks a thousand thoughts all at once. This cannot continue, is the conclusion it comes to.

Summary
It's a silly thing, so it only makes sense that what sets him off is an equally silly thing. Suguru and Satoru are walking around town, somewhere on the outskirts of Tokyo, doing a little sightseeing after completing their mission. An older woman passes by and compliments them. Satoru scoffs but doesn't answer, and when Suguru pokes him as if to signal that it's time for him to speak he opens his mouth and says some nonsense. He can barely remember it. It was something stupid. Hardly important. The woman looked mildly annoyed when she left, but Satoru didn't really care at all, and he was ready to keep moving when Suguru stopped him, a strong hand holding him back by the shoulder.
Suguru.. Suguru looks annoyed. He looks at Suguru, and for a moment Satoru can see disappointed tutors and irritated kids and every person who's ever looked at him and seen not enough, and it's a horrifying moment. When he blinks, Suguru has moved closer, but his expression is more controlled now, his hand squeezing Satoru's shoulder with subdued force, gentle even in his anger.
Ah, Suguru really is good with people. Satoru almost can't tell how badly he pissed him off. -

Summary
Most times, the gifts that diplomats had to offer Ayato were worthless. He had no use for expensive fineries, not when he was constantly surrounded by the best of the best, and poorly concealed bribes really weren't pleasant to receive.
For the first time in a long, long time, he'd actually been given something that piqued his interest.
"A mistletoe," the Mondstadtian had said, placing the small plant in his gloved hands, "it's tradition to hang these on doors during the winter festivities."
"The fun part is that if you get caught underneath it with someone else, you have to kiss them," the man had explained excitedly.
"I see. How curious," Ayato smiled politely as he always did when receiving things, but rather than passing it off to someone, he tucked it into his suit, close to his heart. He knew someone who would enjoy this little game greatly.

It starts innocently enough.
"Tsukasa-kun, may I see your hand?" Rui is smiling as he always does, relaxed and halfway smug, and Tsukasa merely sighs before offering him his hand.
"What is it now?" He questions, playing up his exasperation.
"I want to design a new gadget for us to use in our shows, but I need to make some measurements first." The director's hands are gentle as he rolls the tape around Tsukasa's palm, stopping in between measures to take notes. His fingers brush against the inside of his palm, and Tsukasa tenses for a second.
"Hm?" Rui questions without words, turning his watchful gaze onto Tsukasa's face as he blushes.
"It tickles," he explains, averting his eyes.
Rui, rather than chuckling like he usually would, smiles silently, something twinkling in his eye before he continues with his work. Nothing is said between them, but Tsukasa knows by heart now – that was the moment that things changed for good.
