It was the heaviness like drowning that made it most difficult for Kaveh to breathe. Sadness, he was told, should be a transient feeling. One that should flee with the onslaught of sunshine, to be weathered, not worn.
He lies on his bed. The room is dark. The world is still. It suffocates, like an improvisation for healing should.
