“What the fuck?”“I don’t know,” Alhaitham repeated, crossing his arms. “Such exclamations aren’t specifically helpful to my situation.”
Even in the dimness of the too-early morning, it was clear that his newly-acquired ears flattened in distress as he spoke, much like those of a kitten.

Alhaitham is living the life he has always wanted, but a creeping sense of loneliness takes over his mind. He adopts a cat, and schedules a vet appointment with his ex-best friend:
To his own surprise, the sides of his eyes prickled with the threat of tears, and he found himself unsure of what to do. He did not want to be seen in such vulnerability, but his apartment was as empty as it always was, and so, why the irrational urge to hold the crying back? “Crying is a natural mechanism for releasing stress-related hormones,” he had told Kaveh years before. “Why are you resisting? Cry. There is no rational reason why you should be embarrassed.”
How stupid he had been. Even with no audience, the thought of letting his sadness overflow from his head onto the physical realm seemed daunting, and he simultaneously tried to prevent the flow of tears while letting them happen. A broken, choked sound escaped his throat, and it took him a moment to realise it was his own sob. It sounded foreign to his ears, but they kept escaping his tightly shut lips, until he found himself too exhausted to fight the instinct.

Kaveh is a cosplayer; in other words, a modern-day Prince Charming in a world where chivalry is dead, as quoted from Cyno.
All artists know that art, in any form, comes from a fundamental basis of inspiration. He's a very big fan of the anonymous comic book author known by the pseudonym “Sage". He doesn't make much of an effort to hide this fact.
The only issue is this: he also has no idea that "Sage" lives in the same apartment, one door down.

But once the project started, he got to know Alhaitham on a more personal level. And he was… Kaveh couldn't find the right adjective to describe him. He was everything. Smart, sexy, a little shy, blunt and honest. The two clicked so well once they got to know each other.
Now, nearly three months later, Alhaitham was one of Kaveh’s closest friends.
If Kaveh was honest, it was the happiest he's felt in years. Even more so after Alhaitham kissed him for the first time.
