Tav* is feeling the dual pressures of leading her companions on their journey and resisting her dark urge. After an enlightening encounter with Abdirak (servant of Loviatar, Maiden of Pain), she begins to seek out ways to manage her stress. Her initial clumsy attempts attract the attention of Astarion, who happens to have a wealth of relevant experience and certain... shared interests.
Or: Durge and Astarion find that their particular brands of fucked-upness perfectly complement one another's.
Starts mid Act 1. Durge is a fighter-class drow. She's AFAB but there are no descriptions of her appearance.
* She's named Tav for reasons that'll be explained eventually ^^D/s-flavoured smut begins at the end of chapter 3. Heavier kink scenes from chapter 13. No abuse or non-con between Tav and Astarion.

Adjusting to life as a mind flayer is difficult, especially when Moss feels emotions with their entire body, and the thoughts of strangers keep physically bumping into them. The mixed opinions of the public - and of their companions - certainly aren't helping, either. But the battle is won, and at least the Emperor is here to mentor them as they help him rebuild the city.
Maybe he'll even hold their hand.A post-game fix-it story about learning to be illithid, but also rebuilding, reconnecting, and rediscovery. Everyone deserves to be happy, the Emperor most of all. Grab a page of acrostics, a bowl of soup, and maybe a toothbrush for the nauseatingly teeth-rotting fluff of this absolute character worship novel I've written for our sorely misrepresented big squid.
