He’d been used to it for years now, considering what being a refugee orphan usually entailed. Sometimes he just forgot that possibly dead parents weren't something his friends had to think about often - they had normal dead parents, with faces they'd seen in pictures and memories - in a way he got the better side of it. Couldn't miss someone you'd never seen before.

A place of naps Wakka and Tidus couldn’t interrupt and out of the sunlight because Riku burned a little bit easier than his best friends.

She knew his school schedule, his birthday, what events he’d be hosting on TV during holidays, and owned every magazine and newspaper he’d ever appeared in - which was surprisingly few but he’d just turned 18 a couple of months ago so they probably held off for a bit on those. She was a fan of everything about him; from his cool and collected attitude to his softer, more empathetic appearances when he did donations and charity work. She even liked his Strong Silent Type demeanor whenever she saw him in their shared chemistry class, blank faced and staring at the clock.

Cor didn’t trust her, but he knew they couldn’t risk just ignoring it so freshly into the ceasefire. And with the Magitek Trooper units causing unprecedented damages to property, people, and morale alike, the idea was tempting. He’d decided (along with Regis and Clarus) to take a small unit into Niflheim to see what they could intercept. Even if it was nothing so groundbreaking as the tipster implied anything would help. He supposed they’d find damaged MT parts that they could analyze, maybe even the power source they could analyze and find a way to disrupt.

Summary
In traditional settings, five steps of proper courting were to be followed and accepted by any Beta or Omega before romantic interest can be expressed. His father had drilled that into Noctis’ head before he’d even presented.
Nowadays, properly stepped courting wasn’t necessarily commonplace, usually only seen in romantic films or those shitty novels Gladio tended to read while he had the prince doing warm ups. Basically everyone knew what they were, but it wasn’t as strictly necessary that they be followed.
Even if this wasn’t necessarily required, there was a strange part of Noctis that wanted to court Prompto. He deserved it, after all, to have everything done right, doted over the way that Omegas before him had been.
_____Because of his status, Noctis needs to go about courting very carefully. Despite the work he puts towards it, it doesn't quite seem like Prompto is taking the hint.
Prompto doesn't take the hint until it basically smacks him in the face. -

“Cloudy,” the raven shook his head. “If I wanted there to be a girl in my relationship, I wouldn’t have gotten a boyfriend.”
Zack wanted to talk about this, to explain that gender wasn’t necessarily something that was earned. Manhood was more an experience than a rule book and men were all kinds of things. But he knew Cloud well enough to know this mood. Cloud didn’t want to hear that being a man wasn’t something to be earned, he wanted to hear that he’d earned it well. -

Cloud was different than Tifa remembered him - when they were kids he was quiet, yes, but it was due to his being shy. Cloud was nervous and uncomfortable in his own skin at the time, hiding behind silence from his fear that he wouldn’t be heard. Now, though, his silence was stronger, more secure than when the two had met before. Instead of something to fill, the silence was somewhat safe, instead of shying away from the stillness, Cloud stood firm in himself. It was strange remembering the shy little boy who left Nibelheim seven years ago, especially when faced with the man he was now.
“We have a bit more of it written out, budget and everything,” Tifa handed him a slip of paper with the basic run down. “Come by my bar later tonight, Seventh Heaven. Barret will be there to give you more details."
“Alright,” he shrugged. “My partner is going to be free around six. I’m not meeting anybody alone.”
Partner? Tifa didn’t know Cloud was working with anyone, always seemed like a lone wolf type. -

Tim's only fifteen, Damian's just getting used to everything and I - well I'm the eldest," he hoped that it came off as the only reason, that Jason wouldn't read how much being there for the boys, having that little bit of Bruce, meant to him. "Alfred can't be asked to watch the boys alone, let alone the ten year old who lives here full time. He gets to be too much for me even."
"You and the old man weren't even close," Jason sighed, confused. "I'll never understand the lengths you're going for him."
"It's.." Dick didn't want to go into this, tarnish Jay's already marred memory of the old man for something that barely was. "It's just complicated, okay?"
