Summary
Namjoon tilts his head up, meeting Seokjin’s soft, almost saccharine smile as he stands over his body sprawled on the ground. Seokjin’s hand reaches out, and Namjoon holds his breath as dozens of flower petals fall, drifting down to brush against his face and his unmoving body. Restraints clasping around his wrists and ankles with unsettling gentleness.
"Nobody will attend your funeral, doll. Isn’t it nice to have an angel accompany you in your final breath?"
The smile fades, replaced by something that feels like death itself looming over Namjoon. Every memory of the man before him fractures, as beautiful as a blooming flower, almost fragile. But Namjoon forgets that the most beautiful flowers grow on stems lined with thorns sharp enough to draw blood.
All the petals Seokjin scattered along the path Namjoon followed were never meant as something beautiful. They were a way to conceal the secret he dragged into his garden. He keeps them there. In the place he calls paradise, one that resembles hell far more than anything else. But what if the hell Seokjin has made for him feels more human than the world that has long forced Namjoon to live as something less than one?
