Laurens would not let Hamilton argue this out, and if he was honest with himself, Hamilton was so tired of anger and arguments that he did not even try. Laurens seemed adamant to insist that Hamilton would take a wife when he was gone, and what else could Hamilton do than to prove him the opposite?
Or so he thought.

“We would only have to agree on a surname it seems.”
Laurens wasted no time, his hand on Alexander’s waist. “I think Laurens is the better choice. Short, strong, easy to remember.”
Hamilton shook his head. “Hamilton is sharper. More commanding. Besides, it reminds me of where I came from. You talk of high breeding, well, my grandfather was a Scottish landlord.”
“I keep my word.” John took Alexander’s hand and brought it closer, kissing the back of it. “My name represents four generations of Laurens’ men who lived and prospered in Charles Town.”
Alexander’s gaze met his. John grew up being called stubborn and it seemed like he had met his match. Alexander Hamilton was not backing down.
“Then we are at an impasse.”
“That it seems.”

Capture Alexander Hamilton and bring him to his British superiors ALIVE.
He didn't expect the rakish Captain to be quite so handsome. He DEFINETELY didn't expect to be captured.
But he WILL escape, and (illegal) attraction or not, Hamilton will be captured.When a freak storm leaves both crews stranded on a tropical island and forces them to work together, the two captains must set aside their differences to survive. An uneasy alliance turns into a tentative friendship, and they find between themselves a sizzling attraction that neither can easily ignore.
There's a problem.
Actually, there are many problems.
Laurens was sent to capture Hamilton and take him to the crown to be hung.
Even if they manage to survive and escape, Laurens has a duty to uphold.
