Summary
As they took up the road again, Alistair watched Jowan— the blood mage; the would-be assassin of Arl Eamon; the best friend of the only other Grey Warden left in Ferelden; the newly conscripted Warden-Recruit— with the same suspicious scrutiny that he once dedicated to Zevran, the would-be assassin of himself and Lyr Surana. Granted, Zevran actually was an assassin, but a regular assassin couldn’t manipulate minds like a blood mage could, and Alistair and Lyr weren’t dead. At least not yet, and not by Zevran’s hand. There was still time to be murdered before lunch, what with the Blight spreading out from the Korcari Wilds and ever-closer to the southern main roads.
continuation of my Zevistair series, featuring my warden Lyr Surana! slightly canon-divergent at this point, but still making heavy use of in-game banter dialogues.

As if the assassin in their party, the Blight, and his own royal heritage weren’t enough to worry about already. And the blood mage happens to be Lyr Surana’s best friend. Great.

Atsumu paused, blinked, then restarted. Oh God, he thought. Had he been obvious enough that Bokuto, of all people, had noticed? Atsumu was going to have an aneurysm. He had been aware of his own feelings for Sakusa for a while now, but as long as he didn’t look them in the eye, or acknowledge them at all, really, then he was fine. But if Bokuto had noticed, then what if Sakusa had noticed too? If Sakusa looked at him and said “Ew,” in that prickly way of his in response to Atsumu’s feelings, it might obliterate him on the spot.
