Rey no longer has any concept of her own position as her ship hovers above the pressure lip. She has no idea where the nearest assailant TIE is. She can't even hear the whoops that come over the commlink as Kylo Ren falls. She is watching him struggle against the yokes, vibrating in his black-gloved hands. The heat of his cockpit floor is seeping through her boots and pricking at her soles. She is watching in horror as his ship plummets toward the surface.
My attempt at high-octane adventure based on SymmetryLocked's prompt for Reylo Jukebox Exchange - Go To War by Nothing More. This song was new to my and I loved it from the second I heard it so many thanks for the addition to my playlist.

Kylo leaves Crait thinking there's never been a trap too stupid for him to stumble into. He's been caught in Snoke's lies, fooled by Luke's deception, and almost unhinged by Rey's effect on him.
And if that weren't bad enough, General Hux wastes no time in making his move.
Before long, Kylo finds himself in space with only a snarky and unreliable BB-9E droid for company, and a vague plan to find Rey and change her mind.
As for Rey, when did anyone ever ask her what she wanted? She has plenty of time to wonder, as the tiny band that makes up the entire Resistance searches desperately for a way to ignite the spark that will light the fire to their revolution.

Rey and Kylo|Ben don't get to spend much of the fic in the same location, but they still interact a lot through the Force bond. This fic is fantastic. Strong characterization. Ben gets a slow arc where he falls apart further (and has an awesome sarcastic droid sidekick); Rey struggles with finding her place in the Resistance and then gets kidnapped by the First Order (and gets drugged mostly blocking her use of the Force, and she has some great scenes taking advantage of her knowledge of star destroyers). Only a small portion of the fic actually earns the explicit rating; other than a couple of scenes the rest is probably a T.)
(Additional characters I tagged are minor but have some good scenes, especially Temeri Blagg with Kylo|Ben.)

The end goal in this fic is that the Force needs the light and dark working together, but even though it thus contradicts the spirit of canon a bit, it does a good job of being both self consistent with itself and with canon. Maybe just a tad too Kylo-sympathetic at times (a side effect of the goal not being for him to turn back to the light/being Ben), but otherwise I mostly enjoyed the slowburn romance. Also, I didn't like the Luke subplot while I was in the midst of the story (because it felt a bit too much like 'we need a villain in this position so Luke's gonna be a villain') but the way that subplot wrapped up retroactively made me satisfied with the whole thing.

I found this fic through searching for Reylo tagged with POV Poe Dameron, and there was a very very nice arc with Poe slowly coming to be on better terms with Ben (while starting out still hating him). The story didn't smooth over the interpersonal difficulties that would remain after Ben turned back to the light, leading to a lot of nice scenes with Ben making peace with different characters (I liked how there was still a lot of sharpness/tension between him and ghost!Luke even though they're both on the same side now; I was also excited that there was a scene with him and ghost!Anakin).
I also found the handling of the trial of Kylo Ren plausible. And there was an awesome dyad fight scene with the two of them sharing one lightsaber. All in all, just what I'm looking for in a post-TRoS Ben-lives fic!

When his dad comes back into the clearing with a scrawny kid he's just bought in tow, Dean isn't surprised. He knows Lilim aren't human, that they're creatures, like witches or wendigo.
But the kid that John's got by the arm, who's pulled as far away from Dean's dad as possible without actually trying to get his arm back, the kid whose eyes don't leave John and are bright with fear, the kid who looks like he hasn't eaten in a couple of days and is obviously favoring his left leg...
This kid looks an awful lot like a person. And what's more, he's the same age Sammy would have been.
