The graphic depiction section is the aftermath of the Agni Kai, so if you won't want to read about poor little burn-victim Zuko dealing with burn trauma, I've set that section apart with a row of hashes: ##### because yeaaah I got a little gross in there.
Healing from trauma as depicted by hairstyle choice! And maybe a tiny hint of Zukka there at the end, if you squint. At the very least, Zukka friendship.

Forgiveness isn't easy. (And really, who ever said it was?) This fic follows Katara's emotional journey from the events of "The Western Air Temple" to those of "The Southern Raiders," as she experiences firsthand both the challenges and rewards of forgiving others (and perhaps even learns to forgive herself along the way).

Sokka has realized that he’s basically the big brother here, and he takes his duties seriously. Protector. None of them really need to be protected, Toph being a master earthbender and Katara being a master waterbender and Aang being the Spirits damned Avatar, but he takes care of them anyway. They’re all just children of war, and Sokka refuses to let them grow in it alone.
or, Sokka learns how to take care of his friends, wins a war, kisses his girlfriend, and becomes an honorary older brother to just about everyone. Not necessarily in that order.

Does it matter to the—” Zuko cuts himself off, chest heaving, eyes burning. “Does it matter to the Air Nomads?”

Aang almost died.
She won’t let that happen again. Just because Zuko makes them all tea now and is part of the chore rotation and took Aang to find dragons and acts all awkward and nervous and sincere doesn’t mean he won’t sell them out again the first chance he gets.
