    It started innocently as every bad thing did. He was having another hallucination which had become so normal it could happen twice a day and then he scraped his arm on his wooden bed. He had moved back too much and it stung but the hallucination disappeared. This was it, being in pain was the trick.

    so now he knew what he needed to do when they came upon him, he had to hurt himself.
