It's been several months since Ajax became a Harbinger. Eager to prove himself as the vanguard of the Fatui Harbingers, Ajax travels around Snezhnaya to strengthen the various outposts and camps.
In the mean time he's also searching for the Illusive Red dead of night.
As a result of this prolonged absence from the castle, Scaramouche has been getting more and more agitated. His person has been away for too long but he's too proud to say anything about it.
Luckily even the Tsaritsa notices and decides that once Tartaglia's mission has been completed she will send Childe and Scaramouche along with him to Liyue.

Scaramouche swallowed, before speaking. “You’re not going to be better than me here.”
“Aren’t I?” There was something in his voice that Scaramouche couldn’t pinpoint, and he watched in silence as Childe’s eyes flickered across his face, between both of his eyes and then down to his lips for a split second. “I think I already am.”
He could do nothing but stare as Childe pulled away, going back to his locker to get changed with a smirk.

“Name me,” Scaramouche says, crossing his arms expectantly like Aether should be honored.
He’s infuriating. But at the same time, Aether’s relieved because after all of this, he’s finally himself again. Aether shouldn’t be finding comfort in it, in knowing he’s still as rotten as he used to be.
But in many ways, it’s a comfort to be able to look around and find some things exactly as you left them.
He wants to throw himself at Scaramouche but they’re in the presence of a god, so for appearance’s sake, he keeps it to himself.
“Or what?” he replies, raising an eyebrow, “I could just whistle when I need you to join my party.”
Scaramouche gives him a lopsided smile.
“If that’s what you’re into.”
Aether’s nails dig into his palms. The second they’re alone, he’s going to make him regret this.
