“Wei Ying?” Lan Zhan asks.
He gives him a grim smile. “Looks like you’re finally getting your wish, Lan Zhan.”
Lan Zhan stares back at him, expression blank.
“I’m coming to Gusu with you.”

Wei Ying resists the urge to down her second glass of champagne because she doesn't do that anymore and problems cannot be solved with alcohol or self endangerment. She does take another sip before she approaches. She wonders if this counts as self endangerment, when Lan Zhan could say heart please and Wei Ying would rip it out of her own chest and hand it over even as she fell down dead. She takes another sip of champagne.

okay have some news, she texts later that morning, creating a new group chat, watching as Lan Zhan fixes food for them in the kitchen, her careful assessing eyes, the movement of her hands, her long tapered fingers. the wlw modern au where i was basically one of the gang because it opened and i thought lwj and wwx were together but they weren't yet (aside from how they WERE and everyone knew it) and that was it, that's them, that's the perfection that this is (and the *waves hands* everything that wangxian is (and we love it).
