Summary
"He can’t decide if he wants to stare at Eddie or if looking at him right now feels like too much, so he settles for focusing on the plate in front of him. But he feels something lessen in his chest, and recognizes it as the anxiety that had made every swallow feel like he was going to be sick, like he was forcing food or water past a rock stuck in his throat. He’d barely eaten anything, let alone touched his wine glass at dinner. And when his mom had given him a look, he’d mumbled something about having a long shift and having to drive home.”
-
After an exhausting dinner with his parents, Buck ends up in front of Eddie’s house and finds himself not just welcomed but expected and cared for.

Summary
"Look, it's not a big deal," Ravi says. "It's nothing to be embarrassed about."
Chimney's eyes dance with barely restrained glee. "Don't listen to him," he says. "It is a big deal, and you should be embarrassed."
"Well I'm not embarrassed," snaps Buck, heat coloring his cheeks. "It was nothing, you know? People say stupid things in high adrenaline situations. It doesn't have to mean anything."
"So you're … not in love with Eddie?"
Eddie falls off a cliff, and it knocks a few truths loose.

Summary
“They say humans kill or destroy what they’re afraid of, and I’m no different,” Buck says sadly.
“Oh Buck… No, you’re not,” Eddie tries to comfort Buck, even if he’s not fully sure what is unraveling in front of his eyes.
A tear spills down Buck's cheek. “Yes, I am. That’s exactly what happened, Eddie,” his voice wobbles. “I took one look at the innocent spider, and I got scared, so I killed him.”
Before he can process his feelings properly, words come out of his mouth. “I love you so much,” Eddie breathes out.
OR: Buck kills a spider and has big feelings about it. Eddie has even bigger ones.

Summary
That’s the worst of it, Buck thinks. It’s not the nausea, the chills, the nightmares that haunt him even in his waking hours. It’s this. It’s Eddie, dropping into the chair beside his bed with a quiet, patient nod. It’s Eddie, looking at him like he’s still him, like he’s still Buck. Eddie, refusing to treat him like the broken, ruined thing he is, ignoring the fact that Buck’s misery is of his own making, that he alone dug this grave of pills and lies and it’s his to lie in alone.

Summary
“Do you think,” Will whispers, his voice so low that it is barely audible in the little space carved between them, “it's going to last?”
Mike frowns. “What?”
“The pain of loving you.”
The words land between them like shattered glass. Mike stops breathing, his eyes taking on a haunted look. For a moment he looks like he might speak —his mouth even opens slightly— but the words never come.
Drunk out of his mind at Stacey’s party, Will is forced to confront the truth he’s been running from: Mike is not his Tammy. Only this time, Mike is there to deal with the aftermath.
