    “No.“

The word rang trough the throne room like a gunshot.

Hermes’ fingers, which had previously danced over the screen of his caduceus halted and he raised an eyebrow as he looked up at Poseidon.

The Lord of the Sea held his head high, regally, unrelenting. His eyes were as dark as the waters surrounding Charybdis and his glance bored into each and every one of them, while his hands rested on his trident.

    A silent threat.

It’s a Reading the book story.

Old, done a million times and completely self-indulgent.

If you like this kind of story you’re probably desperate enough to check every new one out, if you don’t, I know there is nothing at all I can say to convince you to read this one, and if you don’t know what a reaction fic is and simply start this one out of curiosity , I might be the one to drag you into this rabbit hole.

If that’s the case, I am deeply sorry, and good luck. It’s pretty hard to leave this trope behind once you’re into it.

    Summary

Percy Jackson's Unified Theory of Other People and Why They Were, Generally, Decent held that any warmth directed at him was explainable by context. The barista who remembered his order was very good at her job. The study group that kept saving him a seat had gotten into the habit. The god who materialized outside his building every week with the correct coffee was, as he himself explained, very neighborhood-oriented.

Percy had never subjected these conclusions to scrutiny.

Apollo had been in love with him for three years. He had a structure for this: something built carefully, that worked, that let him keep the thing he most wanted to keep. It held. He was not going to say anything.

Then Percy looked up from his bivalves and started paying attention.

(This is the story of what happened after that. It is not a short story. Percy Jackson is very thorough once he decides to be.)

    Summary

After the fall of Gaia, Percy Jackson discovers that Tartarus left more than scars behind.

Haunted by a secret no one knows, Percy begins exploring powers that should not exist. When an impossible fracture in the sea tears him from his own time, he awakens in Ancient Greece thousands of years before his birth.

Claimed by the sea and recognized by Olympus as the minor god of Safe Harbor and Sanctuary, Percy seeks only peace. Far from prophecies and wars, he builds a refuge for the forgotten, the hunted, and those with nowhere else to go.

But as his Harbor grows, so does his legend. Women fleeing oppression, abandoned children, and lost souls all find their way to his shores. And somewhere between the rise of heroes and the coming of Troy, the sun god Apollo begins falling in love with the one immortal who never notices.

A story of sanctuary, loyalty, healing, and finding a home at the end of the world.

    Summary

What does living in peace after a childhood of war really look like? How do you reckon the consequences of a lifetime of being trust into the spotlight? And oh, what a violent, bloody spotlight it had been. Percy never wanted to be a hero, never wanted to be important. Now that Gaia's gone, he has the chance to tackle building a life he truly loves. The Fates aren't quite finished with him yet, however. At least it's not another war.
