Summary
“Too deep—too deep, I can’t—please.” Kevin throws his head into Jean’s shoulder.
Jeremy quickly studies his face. “Jean, his eyes are watering. Maybe give him a break.”
Jean drops any weight of Kevin’s he may have been holding, causing the other man to ragdoll into him. Kevin heaves, trembles, twitches as he’s stuffed full without support lifting him up.
Tears stream down his cheeks; Jean licks one of the drops on his jaw. The salt hits like epinephrine, tastes like victory.
“Remember,” Jean says, “one word and we end this. One word and it can be over. Do you wish to use it?”
Kevin shakes his head.

“About what?”
Kevin stares. “You let Jean knot you?”
Jeremy frowns at him. “Yeah. Why wouldn’t I?”

“So?”
“Isn’t it—Doesn’t that…feel weird?” Kevin stutters out. He stands near the door looking ready to bolt. Fiddling with his hands, he’s awkward in a way Jeremy hasn’t seen from him before.

Summary
Kevin remembers warning Jean off of men by using Jeremy’s story. He remembers killing his own attraction where it grew. He remembers staying awake at night, silently trying to carve the love out of him with Riko just a few feet away, asleep. He remembers using Thea in an attempt to fix himself.
All of that was for nothing, because now Kevin is sitting between Jean and Jeremy, who are together. Sitting in front of Jean, and struggling to breathe normally with his body so close, radiating heat like a neutron star, a hand always moving back to Kevin’s hip. All of it was for nothing, because Jeremy is right there, so competent and strong and fucking kind.
