Summary
Comparing this year to last year, there's about a million things that have changed.
Peter isn't malnourished, depressed, and barely holding on by a thinning thread. He isn't on the brink of losing it and drowning in his grief, barely paying attention in his classes and trying to avoid making friends that he ended up making anyway. He isn't patrolling until he collapses and passing out in his bathroom after giving himself stitches. He isn't alone.
Harley's starting to accept that his life ended when he died, and the one he came back to will never be like it was before. He can talk to his mom without mourning the years he was gone. He can catch up with Pepper or Rhodey, visit Morgan at the lake house or meet Happy for lunch, without choking on Tony's absence. He can feel alive again.
(With all the good changes, their second year at Empire State is looking promising. But there will always be obstacles that get in the way, and when some Spidey business gets scary, it's only to be expected that almost everything else has to go wrong, too.)

Way back when—as in, before Norman Osborn died and Harry took over the company; as in, before Ben Parker died and Peter shouldered the blame, the guilt, and, of course, the responsibility that is being Spider-Man; as in, before Mary and Richard Parker’s plane went down, when Peter still had his parents around to teach him how to brush his teeth and make his bed—back before all that, Peter and Harry met.
Sometime after—as in, after Ben Parker’s death and Spider-Man’s creation; as in, after Norman Osborn succumbs to his illness and Harry shoulders the weight of it; as in, after Gwen dies and Peter can’t find it in himself to blame Harry for it because he let both of them down—the two of them meet again.
(peter helps create a cure for harry after everything went wrong. harry wants to be peter’s friend again and peter wants to never acknowledge the fact that he’s spider-man and neither of them know how to fix the broken mess left between them.

Summary
The idea of him never meeting Peter is stifling. The idea of him starting at Midtown last year, and maybe he would have still met Ned and Michelle, but he would have met the versions of them who had recently lost a friend. The hallways would have been haunted by a student who had passed over the summer, and all Harley would have gotten were stories of who that student was. He tightens his hold on Peter’s hands and says, “I’m so sorry.”
“It’s fine,” Peter murmurs, offers up a clunky little shrug and looks down at the carpet.
“It’s not,” Harley tells him—voice insistent yet shaky. “It’s not fine. You’re alive, and I’m so fucking glad that you’re alive, but—but I wish you could be alive without having to have all of that weighing you down. I—I wish you were weightless, you know? Just… healthy and happy, without all the bad things.”

Summary
Neil was panting, lips red and swollen from the earlier harshness of Andrew's own. His head was tilted back, Andrew's position knelt at his feet giving him a perfect view of the long line of his neck.
Andrew couldn't be embarrassed by his desperation to get Neil's pants off. He needed to get his dick in his hands, needed to feel its warmth, the way it would harden in his hands.
He needed to see Neil's face, honest and overwhelmed in pleasure when he finally put his mouth on him. He practically salivated at the thought.
Andrew finally ripped Neil's boxers down to the sound of his stuttered breathing, only to freeze in place. There was a large patch of unruly hair, darker and longer than Andrew's had ever been, but that wasn't what gave him pause.
"Andrew?" Neil murmured in confusion.
Andrew inhaled sharply, the closest thing to regret he'd ever felt welling up from deep in his bones. Here was someone who trusted him, who understood him, who was quite possibly the most attractive man Andrew had ever seen, and he wanted Andrew. Except Andrew had no idea what to do with the fact that Neil didn't have a dick.
