Summary
Their life may not be anybody's definition of normal, but maybe normal is overrated anyway.
A series of ficlets describing days in the life of Mulder and Scully at the Unremarkable House. These will be more or less standalone ficlets, so I'm leaving it as a WIP for as long as I can think of more mundane everyday adventures to add. Ratings will vary from G to Explicit but you can skip the parts that aren't your thing without losing track of the plot. This will be fluff for the most part, with the occasional sprinkling of angst lite because they're still Mulder and Scully, but details will be given in the notes for every chapter. Mainly, this is the two of them learning to stop running.

Summary
‘What if I never wake up, Mulder?’
‘You can’t talk like that, Scully. You can’t say that.’
‘I’m.. scared,’ she admitted softly into the darkness.
He was cut down by those words, floored, emptied, hallowed out and stung. She never uttered such things, never shared any weaknesses with anyone. He was filled with an agonising helplessness. He wanted to put her back in her body, to watch the two halves of her become one again.
The Scully in his bed, reunited with her soul, her warmth and her movement.
The Scully at his side, rejoined with her muscles and cells and choices.Tears clung at his lashes and his jaw ached from pretending that he had any control over anything.
‘I’m scared, too. But we can’t give up. I’ll show them the proof. I’ll… I’ll fight, Scully. They won’t do anything to you.’

Dana was studying to become a doctor in Baltimore when it happened. As small as a poppy seed.
Her entire world shifted. Her mother had found it shameful, her father, unforgivable. Daniel had found it impossible. Mulder found it… fascinating.'His heart ached for her, and the terrible things that must have led her to even consider this arrangement.
He had to say something, he had to give her a chance to turn around and make a better decision.‘Is this what you want, Dana?’ He asked abruptly, stepping further into her personal space than he had before.
She felt her entire world still, and a raw pain shot through her. Not one person in her life had cared to ask her that yet.
‘It is what must be done.’ She said simply, and the air stung around her words.
He nodded, his eyes dropping from hers to somewhere over her shoulder. He didn’t move away, and Dana felt a scorching heat envelop her body in his presence. She thought it must be fear, or perhaps just a symptom of her situation.
It suffocated her, the dry heat, the deep, woodsy smell of him, the insanity of his questioning. It was all too much.'- Language:
