He had sharp golden eyes, a strong jaw and a small scar that cut through his left eyebrow that somehow made him more interesting to look at. His face was smudged with streaks of grease, his hair was slightly mussed, and he was looking at Akaashi with an expression that could only be described as scathing.
Bordering on annoyed.
Akaashi felt his stomach twist tighter.
Perhaps, just this once, Hajime was right. Maybe this was a mistake.
In a small town that never forgets, the Bokuto and Iwaizumi families have spent years pretending the past is settled by never speaking of it at all. The room starts to tilt a little, and Keiji wonders how much of it he can blame on his exhaustion. He blinks a few times in an effort to reorient himself, then carefully pushes his glasses further up his nose and says, “I don’t know. It would have never worked out in high school, then there was university and our careers to contend with. I’m busy, you’re busier. The timing just hasn’t been right, I guess.”
“Then we should make time.”

Bokuto’s gaze drifted to the soft rug on the floor, thinking about what Kuroo was implying. “Well maybe not perfectly fine, but I guess so, yeah.”
Kuroo’s eyes gleamed. “Do you think,” Kuroo said slowly, “that maybe Spider-Man is easier since you’re hiding behind a persona?”
Bokuto paused in thought, then nodded. “I guess that makes sense.”
“And,” Kuroo continued, voice taking on a playful lilt, “do you think Spider-Man could… maybe get to know him better?”
Bokuto is too nervous to make a move on his roommate, Akaashi. Things change when Spider-Man becomes a reoccurring presence in Akaashi’s life.
