Lily's dream was going to college, becoming a published author and living independently until her last days. She understood, of course, that given her status as a woman, that would be nearly impossible. So, marrying someone not that awful had to do, right?
James wanted to change London. No, he wanted to change the United Kingdom, even the world. But being a dreamer didn't always sit right with the Parliament. After all, what were dreams in the face of old power?
Remus dreamed of being part of something, of being remembered. His father always said working hard would get him there. But how hard would be sufficient to get him where he wanted? To be seen more than a cripple?
Sirius hoped for freedom. Freedom of class, freedom of speech, freedom of love. He just wanted space to breathe, to be himself. But a Lord, in the face of society, can never be free. And a person, in the face of his ghosts, can never prosper.
Peter demanded conciliation. He did not like choosing, he did not like conflict. When presented at a crossroad, the only reliable choice was yourself. So why risk everything when confort is what keeps you safe?

Summary

Sirius Black is crown prince to the throne and is put into an arranged marriage with his cousin whom he is desperate to escape from. Fortunately for him, he's able to strike a deal with a notorious pirate by the name of Captain Lycaon that grants him his freedom and the captain all the gold he could ever want. Though, things go awry quickly when neither man is as the other expects him to be, setting off a chain reaction of drama, angst, and love.
