Jun-tae looks down, catches a glimpse of his dirty woolen vest. The events that led to this moment flash before him. It hits him then, a dooming realization, that he's the sheep, and Seong-je the wolf.
It's a good analogy, for Jun-tae feels the part, like a mindless sheep that fell into the wolf's trap. How pathetic, how gullible and naive.
It's his incompetence that is the reason he finds himself in this situation. He has no one to blame himself. That's why he deserves to bear the consequences of his foolishness. Maybe the punches that are due will etch a lesson into him, teach him not to be so easy. Maybe the hurt will feel more like a caring sting designed to keep him safe and quiet. Designed to remind him not to stray from his lane, not to be the sheep that sought alliance with a wolf.
