Summary
Despite her many eyes, all Maka can see when she looks up at the starry skies of Death City is how Soul might have never known them again — how he might have died back in the Hole when that something cut him open, how it’d have been her fault if he did. So these days she spends her time trying to prove her strength — to her mother (a Devil), to herself (a sorcerer), and most importantly to Soul (a partner whose heart she intends to write her name on). But ahead of her lies more than just the chaos of her own guilt. As Maka circles the drain, she must also contend with a chainsaw wearing kingpin, a mad human doctor, and perhaps worst of all, Papa in Party-Mode™.

Summary
Life is a violent place. The people of the Hole know this all too well; living in fear of Sorcerers and their often cruel magics. As a citizen of the Hole himself, Soul tries to get by. However, after a fateful encounter with a knife on a dirty street, Soul learns that he is not merely human, but a Sorcerer himself. Now, with danger and death on his tail, Soul must open a door to a new world, fleeing the only home he’s ever known. What lies on the other side of that door?
