Summary
The rain hammered against the cracked windows of the old safehouse in the Narrows like it was trying to break in. Jason Todd stood by the kitchen counter, arms crossed over his broad chest, watching Tim Drake peel himself out of the top half of his Red Robin suit with the same detached precision he used on everything else.
Tim’s movements were economical, almost clinical. Tunic off. Undershirt tugged up and over his head in one smooth motion. The harsh overhead light cast sharp shadows across the lean lines of his torso, highlighting every fresh bruise blooming across his ribs and the older yellow-green ones fading along his collarbone. A nasty gash ran along his left side, still seeping a little.
Jason’s jaw tightened. He hated seeing Tim hurt. He hated it more because he wasn’t supposed to care this much.
“Jesus, Tim,” he muttered, voice low and rough like gravel under boots. “You look like you went ten rounds with a meat grinder.”

“Firsts?” Kairi raised an eyebrow.
“Yeah, you know!” Sora exclaimed. Even just thinking about it was making Sora’s heart skip a little. “Like first kisses, or a first date. Ooh, or holding hands the first time! Every time I’m near Riku now my heart starts thumping like ‘is it gonna happen yet?!’”
“Are you serious?” Kairi asked, squinting at Sora. “Sora, you’ve held Riku’s hand like a bazillion times. You used to drag him everywhere!”
“That doesn’t count!” Sora protested. Doubt flickered in his chest. “Does that count?”
“In fact, you’ve done all those things before,” Kairi said, folding her arms and leaning over the table towards Sora. Her expression was knowing, and Sora suddenly had a bad feeling about this conversation.
