The Russian pet name set a firework off inside Shane's mind as he heard it cooed from behind him. The intonation was just as he remembered, but the voice was much deeper.He turned and felt himself short circuit. It took every ounce of willpower to not let his jaw drop cartoonishly to the floor. “You listened to me,” Connor observed as he let his eyes wander across Hudson’s face, taking in the details of the make up that he was dying to ruin. He let his eyes rake further down and took notice of Hudson’s hastily thrown together fit: a pair of shorts and a plain t-shirt.

“I wanted this as much as you,” Hudson confessed, his voice disappearing into a whisper as Connor slowly leaned in again.

Summary
As time wound on and the drink flowed, their inhibitions lowered and subtle affection transformed into something more open, more free. Hudson had plopped himself right into Connor's lap as he smoked. Nothing they hadn't done before—though not in public except for a few photos— but the press would lap it up. Whatever. It was all useless noise that he didn't care for. Being invited to attend the Met Gala was no small feat and they deserved to enjoy themselves without the needless worry of what other people thought of their very open friendship.
Hudson pushes his luck just a little and Connor makes him pay for it.

Hudson sighs, dropping his pen into his journal, feeling defeated. He had hoped writing down his thoughts would help him clear his mind and get rid of the nauseating feeling in the pit of his stomach, but it persists, an uneasiness that has him restless and anxious.
He stares at the small window of his trailer, there’s people moving around the set and he wonders if he’s in for another sleepless night. Glancing down, he re-reads the last words he managed to write before his world shifted on its axis, the words that have been haunting him for days: “I am in love with Connor.”
