He stared at the oven, having been told to let it cool for a moment. His less than welcome antennae flicked the air with each passing second, he normally kept them hidden but he wasn't concerned about that at the moment.
His heart pounded against his chest, threatening to burst free at any moment. He whispered a prayer to the Witches, begging for their blessing for everything to go as planned.

Harry opened his mouth to say something he was very sure would be words when the blonde boy scrambled to his feet. Harry remained sprawled on the stone floor, half-propped by his elbows, watching the other boy gather his belongings. He noticed the shaking hands and the dark circles under Malfoys eyes. Harry wondered briefly if he was sleeping ok.
Eventually, Malfoy stood straight and brushed his hands down his robes. His grey eyes bore into Harry’s and he opened his mouth slightly before snapping it shut and walking away, head held carefully high. Harry watched him walk away and wondered when the fire inside Draco Malfoy had been extinguished.

Alrakis • I [24M] attended a small boarding school in the UK. There was a boy in my year, a couple of months younger than me, and he became my nemesis after we developed an intense rivalry. My friend [25F] told me recently that our dynamic was "weird back then" and that "it’s even weirder" that I still think about him today. She argued that I talk about him all the time, but I believe the amount I talk about him is reasonable. AITA?
prongymcprongface • i completely get what you mean. i had a nemesis (like a school one, separate to my other nemesis) and we had a dynamic super similar to what you are describing. having a nemesis is a very cool and normal thing dw about it. NTA

Harry froze for a moment, processing the comment he heard before whipping around to spot the culprit.
“What?” Harry breathed, more confused now than anything. “My boyfriend? I don’t have a boyfriend!”
Ron sat stock still. Harry blinked harshly.
“Ron. What does the Prophet say?”
“Harry, why don’t you worry about that, er, later?”
“Ron.”
With trepidation, Ron handed over his copy of the Prophet. The moment Harry read the title, he wished he could cease existing.
