Summary
Years after the Geostigma Crisis, Cloud Strife is still attempting to run away from his past and the nightmares that haunt him. After a particularly hard period, he ends up coming across a monster, leftover gift by Shinra and their scientists, and right before he manages to slay it, it pulls him back during a time he should be nothing but a cadet.
Sephiroth, after feeling weak for the first time during his adult life and coming to terms with it, simply tries to deliver a letter written by an anxious mother to her missing son.

Summary
After killing Sephiroth, Cloud begins to feel the urge to "sail the cosmos" himself. Turns out that with Sephiroth dead and Jenova gone, he has the highest concentration of J-cells out of any living thing on the planet.
He can ignore the more dramatic urges easily enough, but when he starts longing for Sephiroth too, he thinks he might lose it.
Luckily for him (or not), Sephiroth longs for him, too.

Summary
Sephiroth’s hands slide under his shirt, up his chest. “You were quite something, Strife, when you took my blade.” His fingers unerringly find the spot where his masamune had pierced Cloud’s chest, years ago.
Hojo’s tanks made sure there was no scar, but there’s a phantom ache that never goes away and Sephiroth is ghoul enough to know exactly where it is.
