He skips the shower when he gets home. If it’s living in the head of the shower then breathing it in is probably worse than whatever he might have picked up at the hospital. And if he’s got black mold living in his pillow he shouldn’t be sleeping with any sort of moisture on his head. Honestly, he shouldn’t even sleep with the pillow anyways, and that’s not too bad, he’s gone without a pillow hundreds of times before. But he can’t get in his bed if he hasn’t showered, he could be carrying something else from the hospital, and apparently Mckay had a patient with c.diff yesterday. So he can’t sleep unless he showers, but if he showers he’ll get sick. He’s stuck, standing in the doorway, one shoe off and one shoe on, trying to figure out what he’s supposed to do.
or: Whitaker has contamination OCD. He thinks a little too hard about all the microbes that live in old apartment buildings. Thank god he's got a rich older boyfriend in a new house!

Summary
Jet had known for a long time that he could not “love”. At least not in the most traditional sense of the word. He would never be in the same dizzying romance that seemed to occupy the time of most of his peers, never feel the same way that they felt about another person. For the most part, this did not bother him. What did bother him was the fear that the people he cared about most (for though his heart did not work in the same way as others, there were people he cared about) would leave him once they managed to do just what he could not.
Fall in love.

Peter Nureyev isn’t quite sure why he’s standing outside a flower shop in Hyperion City, a city he swore he’d never see again on a planet he promised himself that he’d never return to. Is it revenge? His vindictive streak would certainly suggest so, but even a man with a sordid history such as himself wouldn’t stoop so low as send flowers to an ex-something (Fling? Partner? Almost-but-not-quite lover?) on his birthday for the purpose of petty revenge.
Maybe he wants Juno to know that he’s still out there.
Maybe he just wants to send a former co-worker a gift on his birthday.
