    this, without a doubt, one of my new favorites of this very niche fandom. i have no idea how i've missed it for years but!!! it fills with hope to know there's always so much more creative and amazing works to be found out there.

     

    I could absolutely go over the bookmark character limits just naming everything i enjoy about this fanfic. it's so, so wonderful to see danny's integration to the batfamily and the specific ramifications of its circumstances. the relationship he has with his new family never stops being absurdly interesting. there's so much thought put into every single thing and it shows! it shows to such a degree that i was left awestruck multiple times. the idea of the Maddie and Jack simply being punished as super villains is brilliantly insightful! they ABSOLUTELY fill the role and did the deeds for it. but it's made better by staying loyal to the Canon and showcasing their sincere love for danny and how these can both exist simultaneously.

    The medical exploration-- it honestly couldn't have come to me at a better time of my life. I went through my own medical story arc while reading this and it greatly reassured me in ways that'd make me too flustered to write the rest i still want to say. also just danny's in depth headcanons about his health, how his body functions, EVERYTHING about it-! it's perfect. incredible, INCREDIBLE work

    it constantly felt to me like a fantasy dream, more so than the average fanfic. a ton of batfamily fan media has that 'i can help you deal with your own irl family trauma', that I love, don't get me wrong, but this one really turns an extra factor I didn't even know I needed. Bruce unwavering determination to help his kids and his unreal infinite amount of resources for it. Just seeing always helping danny think ahead, help him sketch the outline of his life goals and how to achieve them- it struck me deeply. imagine that, someone understanding what you want from life and just making it seem almost easy to get there. you can study anywhere, do anything, money is no trouble, and any trouble that comes your way, you'll be supported to come through with it. it left me stunned, honestly, I'll probably think about that for a long, long while

    there's absolutely more i loved about this story but I'll lend myself some more space to add once I inevitably re-read this one day. I know myself well enough by now to know that I will.

    For now, I'll kindly wait more as well. I honestly can't wait to see how the Joker story arc develops!

An old enemy reborn, or someone pretending to be him. Graffiti that can't be photographed by normal means. Bartenders disappearing without a trace. John Constantine is also there.

    Danny wants nothing to do with any of it. He just wants to sell burgers and survive. Actually, he'd like to go home again, but since that isn't possible, he'll stick with burgers.

    Gotham's vigilante's have other plans.

    This is why Danny doesn't do favors.

    what an incredible beast of a fic. researchers, philosophers and clairvoyants will forever wonder how a work this good was able to be put out into this world. for real, im absolutely IN LOVE with this fic. the plot is so good??? the characterization is top tier??? it's so fun it has me giggling like a buffoon on my own room? it's everything i want from a fic. so so many subtle details and bigger archs and they all?? tie so well?? flabergastered.

    most important of all, jason has two floating ducks. something i had never knew i wanted, but i know it's something it's something i can't live without
