Feng Xin really wasn’t meant to be a god.
It was a thought he’d had often, back when he was helping Dianxia alongside Mu Qing during the crown prince’s first ascension, and it was even more obvious now that he had ascended by his own merits. He was fucking terrible at navigating the bureaucracy and politics of it all, and honestly had no desire to get any better at it.
Did he just ascend at a bad time, or was getting started as a new god this confusing for everyone?
Feng Xin suffers through the paperwork of becoming a new god — but with the help of a mysterious benefactor, it goes more smoothly than expected.

“Just like how Feng Xin became the God of Pleasure by a misunderstanding, you could also find a secondary domain of worship! Something that ghosts need or want...”
“Like what?”
Xie Lian cleared his throat lightly before he suggested, “How about becoming a God of Style?”
After losing one too many spars, Mu Qing finds out that—due to new worshippers of Ju Yang in Ghost City—Feng Xin's divine power had become ever-so-slightly stronger than Mu Qing's. Mu Qing's solution? Build a following in Ghost City, too: bigger and better than Feng Xin's. The issue? Ghosts don't care for martial arts or war at all! Mu Qing would have to find something else to be worshipped for.
Thus begins Mu Qing's life as Xuan Zhen: the God of Beauty.

Ryuunosuke didn't expect to personally reap many benefits as a result of his role in helping to solve the case at the end of Dai Gyakuten Saiban 2, but he couldn't deny that he was enjoying the tentative friendship that he and Van Zieks were forming in the wake of its conclusion. In an effort to recover from his undue prejudice against the Japanese, Van Zieks asks Ryuunosuke if he would mind teaching him more about his homeland, starting with an aspect that already appeals to him: Japanese wine. Ryuunosuke proposes that they try making some together. Over the course of the five month fermentation period, the two of them get to know each other better on a personal level and come to realize that they might be more compatible than they realized.

The strangled voice rips Elliott out of his dream (a very pleasant one, by the way, there was a beach involved and cocktails and he had to mix exactly none of them because it was leisure time), but he has no chance to complain about it before the distress registers, and the hands, clammy and cold and trembling, one jammed under his jaw and the other touching his face, his neck, his chest in panicked, urgent movements.
“Hound?” he blurts out, a random jumble of sounds, a residue of a name he says so often that it is permanently on the edge of his throat. “S’wrong?”
