Summary
Gerard likes Frank like this. Hot, hard, and desperate, begging for relief, coming to Gerard's bed achingly needy as unspoken confirmation that only they can give him what he's looking for. Frank acts like it's only pleasure he's asking of Gerard, yet they both know it's more, something deeper that's searching for comfort and reassurance and connection beyond a warm body. He wants to be deconstructed just enough to be barely intact, and only someone who knows him well enough to tell he's still recognizable by the end of it can give him that.
The suggestion of birthday sex in Paris is so Frank that Gerard can't miss the opportunity to tease him about it. That hopeless romanticism that Frank holds on to even while they're constantly caught in a sick game of push and pull. It's so juvenile and dumb that it’s almost cute.

Frank is, without a doubt, the most unpredictable person that’s been in Gerard’s orbit in years. For starters, he just said “shit” during a job interview.

or: Successful playwright and director Gerard Way is in desperate need of an assistant to help him keep all of his plates spinning in the six months before his newest play premieres. He expects someone polished, someone who knows the theater world, someone who knows who he is. Instead, he gets Frank Iero, a 23 year old punk with a couple of failed dreams and a knack for scheduling. He's abrasive, sarcastic, and refuses to engage with Gerard's work.

“You should wash.” Gerard says, releasing Frank’s hip as well and using it to pat his shoulder instead. “I didn’t mean to distract you.”
“Oh my fucking god,” Frank groans, rolling his eyes. “Is this about Saturday?” He rights himself and turns, hoping that maybe his face looks a little more murderous than it feels. It apparently doesn’t, because Gerard just dons an even wider grin.
“Is what about Saturday?” Gerard asks innocently, as he exits the shower altogether.
Frank’s gonna kill him.
