You help your friends more loops than not. It’s a wonderful performance, one that almost lets you immerse yourself in the fantasy that they could love something like you. But you’re getting tired of performing. So tired you can’t be bothered to put the slightest effort into your mask against Odile, this loop. Let her puzzle over you and complain about her “missing something”; she won’t be able to do anything about it with the end so soon anyways.
The Head Housemaiden doesn’t know anything about the loops. Or maybe she does, but can’t tell you. You don’t know where else to look. You could try asking Loop again, but you really aren’t in the mood for another one of their “experiments.”
And as for the King…

Every time you look down, you can see your hands, black as the night sky. You can see the stars glowing on your arms. You can feel the way your head flares up as you talk. You can feel the Universe-forsaken star thudding against your chest with every breath you take. But you had wished, pathetically, desperately, that maybe Siffrin would see something of himself in you. That he would, somehow, see past the stupid construct the Universe made for you, when it decided you lost the privilege to be him.
You can’t believe, after everything, you still have hope for yourself.

"Not often", he finally said. "This storm's a bad one, but usually I could just take it easy for the day. Get some rest. It passes. Just—"
He cut himself off with a sigh.
"Just ...?", Hawkeye prompted after a moment when he didn't continue.
Edward grimaced. "Well, the shitheads who have it out for me rudely don't give a fuck if I'm having a bad day or not. Really we should make them sign up on a schedule. Attempted murder on fair days only, please."

"Alfons finally managed to shove the door open, and Edward found that the characteristic calmness Alfons typically brought with him was very noticeably gone.
Alfons didn’t stay still for a single moment. He closed the door-or intended to. The door only bounced lamely off the door frame, making Edward wince a little. His roommate spared neither the door nor Edward a glance, though, instead having some other goal.
Using the wall as support, Alfons stumbled to the small base cabinet near the right of the front door. With quiet bewilderment, Edward watched as Alfons frantically, violently, even, pulled out all of the drawers."

Time and time again they were separated, time and time again they were upset or hurt by each other. Even then, never, not even for a second, Tommy thought he’d hear words like these, with the implications they held to them. Tubbo was supposed to know how much Tommy cared about him, there weren’t supposed to be any ands. When he spoke, his voice was much softer than before.
“And I would’ve lost you, Tubbo.”
“Okay, and?” He repeated, and Tommy could hear the crackling of static in his ears.
