Summary
An AU of the season 4 finale, wherein Arthur refuses to abandon his castle during Morgana's seige, and Merlin refuses to use magic to take away Arthur's will, so they're at an impasse.
Rather than break his moral code to bewitch Arthur, Merlin decides to break his secrecy. If Arthur doesn't want to leave his Castle... fine. They won't. Merlin will just have to take it back for him... and all that entails.

Summary
King Arthur sets out to keep his promise to the spirit of the Druid boy by repealing his father's ban on magic. Unfortunately, this is easier said than done, for reasons including but not limited to the following:
(1) He can't change the law until he understands magic better, but no sorcerer is willing to explain magic to him until he changes the law;
(2) The sorcerers all have some strange obsession with Merlin, which is awakening all sorts of feelings in Arthur that he really doesn't fancy examining too closely;
(3) He is starting to feel like the butt of some Druid-population-wide inside joke involving the mysterious phenomenon called Emrys; and
(4) Oh yeah, Morgana is still trying to kill him.
Thus he embarks on a journey of discovery, diplomacy, accountability, and self-improvement, and maybe even falls in love along the way.

Summary
Arthur is saying things. Strange things. Gwaine thinks it’s the best council meeting he’s ever attended. Merlin is increasingly concerned. Everyone else is doing their best to survive it.
I apologise for this in advance. This is the result of being awake for 28 hours straight and having a very questionable idea at some point in the middle of the night. “what if Arthur Pendragon came back from the future and immediately started talking like this.” It is not meant to be taken seriously in any way.

Or- A work filled with pining Arthur and lot's of it. Also came to have way more plot than I originally intended, so...cheers to that :)
