Summary
Don't go. Gon thinks, as he bows his head in overdue thanks. Don’t go. He thinks, as he watches Killua’s face split into a fond smile, a dimple Gon had studied for hours blooming on his cheek. Don’t go. He thinks as Killua tosses away flimsy assurances of future emails and photographs, already far too prepared to leave Gon behind. Don’t go. He thinks, as he swallows his tears and turns on his heel to face the monstrous tree before him. Don’t go. Please don’t go. He prays, as Killua takes his sister by the arm, holding her with the hands that once held him, and disappears.

Summary
“You’re making this difficult.” Killua sighs, sounding a bit off.
Gon just hums lowly in response. He's too concentrated on forming his Nen above his finger to properly stay attentive.
“I’m in love with you.”
“Mmm, I’m in love with-“ Gon blankly parrots before stopping. The Nen abruptly dissolves with a slight hiss and he whips his head around to face his friend. “Wait, what did you say?”

Summary
“Does it bother you?” Gon asks, tilting his head to pin Killua with a wide-eyed look. His tone is genuinely concerned as he assures, “I can stop if you don’t like it.”
No, is his immediate reaction and, to his continued mortification, his mouth blurts it out without his permission. He shoves his hands in his pockets, ducking his chin to glare at the dirt as he mutters, “I mean, I don’t…mind it.” He glances back up at his friend through his fringe to find a delighted smile aimed his way, wide and bright and captivating. His heart leaps in his chest at the sight.
