“Sun?” Louis snaps him out of his thoughts. Harry realises he’d been frowning at his own reflection. He looks back at Louis to find him looking at Harry with a worried look etched in his eyes.
Harry sighs. “I hate this,” he mumbles, wanting to be heard but also not.
“What, baby?” Louis asks, gently. He’s always so gentle with Harry, so soft, so caring.
“This,” Harry says, frustratedly this time. He doesn’t know what it is himself. This what? His current situation? His appearance? His mental state? All of it? None of it? What?
“I will need you to elaborate, my love.” Louis is still so understanding. Not pressuring. Calm, patient. Grounded.
Harry’s a kite, Louis holds his string.
Harry's stuck in his head again, Louis is the best partner in the whole world. -

Harry dusts off the flour from all over his body. His cheeks hurt from how much he laughed. Louis' face is flushed from it, brown hair looking like a nest. Yet Louis' eyes are lit with so much joy, bluer than the oceans, laughter dancing in the little green specks. Harry feels himself get lost in them, Louis looking right back. 'Has Louis always looked this pretty?' He can't help but think.
They're snapped out of their trance by the sound of the oven beeping. Harry blinks. Louis is covered from head to toe in flour, looking an absolute mess. Why did Harry think he looked pretty?Or, Harry is the new teacher, Louis helps him settle in, it's the sweater weather and no one's falling in love with their new, kind and charming best friend. “Louis…” Harry spoke, cautiously as his heart started beating at an irregular pace. “W-where are you? Right now, where are you?”
“I’m at the hospital-”
“ What?! The hospital?!! Why are you at the hospital?! What did you do? Are you hurt? Are you dying? Are you fucking okay? Just tell me, Louis!”
“I’m fine . Just hurt me arm a little-”
“Hurt? What do you mean ‘hurt’? What happened- Louis what did you do?” Harry nearly screeched into the phone.
“I said I’m fine ! It’s just a little fracture, nothing big-”
Harry couldn’t hear the next words said by him because he felt the phone slip from his arms. The clattering sound was not heard because it fell on the cushion of his couch. Bloody soft things.or,

Summary
Harry glares at him. “The couch is dirty.”
Louis looks at the crumbs scattered around him as if he’s seeing them for the first time. “Oh, no worries about that.” He brushes the crumbs off so that they fall on the carpet. Still not helping. “Here, I’ve cleaned it up, now. Come on then, give me a cuddle.”
He makes grabby hands in the air, and it takes Harry a lot of willpower to not be fazed by them. He maintains his stance. “Now, you made the carpet more dirty,” he says pointingly, hoping now Louis would get the hint.
Louis swallows down a laugh. “Don’t worry about that, love. The housemaid would clean it up.”
Harry feels anger rise up inside him. “We don’t have a housemaid,” he says through gritted teeth. Why the fuck is Louis being so damn clueless? As if he hardly knows anything about them at all.
Louis widens his eyes in fake surprise. “We don’t?”
“No!” Harry snaps, clenching his fists.
“Then who’s been doing the cleaning all this while?”
aka: Harry wants to clean their home, Louis is not helping

Five days, three shows. Harry, Louis, Liam, and Niall have been best friends forever, basically, but they’ve only been a band for six months and they’re already going on tour.
Well. Liam says they can’t call it a tour because all the shows are within an hour of home and they could pretty easily just drive back and forth but no, Liam is wrong, because they were booked in hotel rooms by their manager (Gemma) and they have a stylist (Lottie) and they’ve even been announced on the venue websites and this is the greatest start in the history of rock n’ roll.
Harry, Louis, Liam, and Niall are in a punk band and Louis can't stop writing love songs about Harry, even when Harry has his eye on someone else.

Summary
Louis blinks his eyes open, his eyelids fluttering as the room swims around him. He takes several gulps of beer once he confirms that he’s definitely not hallucinating, that the very first portrait Harry Styles ever painted of him is hanging on that wall.
Louis stares at the wall, his heart jackrabbiting in his chest as he realizes that there’s not just one painting of him, there’s five, the portraits lined up like they’re some sort of storyboard depicting the rise and fall of his deepest love. His greatest heartache. A pain that cut him so deep that he left the fucking country, severing all ties with his life in New York, now suddenly surrounding him as if he’d never left.
Fucking shit motherfucker fuck.
Louis returns to New York City five years after he left it – and the love of his life – behind. He didn't intend to see Harry again, but fate has a funny way of pulling them together, whether they like it or not. After making a begrudging truce, they both start to wonder: Would it be so bad if history repeated itself?
