Despite them not talking for almost four years, having fallen out in middle school, he becomes determined to help Silver get his crush to like him back, knowing that Silver will never make the first move himself. After all, what’s more romantic than a guy writing a love song about the girl he’s in love with? Any girl would be lucky to have a guy like that.
