Summary
Mike just doesn't know what to think about darkness... about nighttime. On one hand, most things are so much easier to say when you're surrounded by darkness than they are during the day. But on the other, morning is always bound to arrive. That's a certainty... or at least it used to be.
But now? Now it's the apocalypse, and Mike is comfortably seated in his bed, and Will Byers is standing in the doorway to his bedroom looking like an angel who got lost on his way to Heaven and stumbled upon Hell by accident.

Summary
One time of trying something isn’t enough to get addicted, or at least it shouldn’t be. And a habit isn’t a habit if you’ve only done it once.
So if it’s not an addiction and not yet a habit (although Mike wouldn’t mind it becoming one), what could this strange want in his chest possibly be called? Mike doesn’t know, and in all honesty, he doesn’t feel the need to know. It doesn’t matter, really. So what if he’s going crazy? Will is too.

Once they’re both out in the driveway with the garage lights turned on, Mike looks significantly at the ball, then at the hoop, then at the ball again.
“What,” Lucas asks, “you just want to stand there and watch me shoot or something?”
Mike rolls his eyes. “I thought we could, y’know. Play.”
“You want to play basketball,” Lucas says, very slowly, because he happens to know that there’s very little in this world or the Upside Down that Mike Wheeler hates more than sports, up to and including as metaphors, “with me?”
“Jesus,” Mike grumbles, “yes, am I speaking Spanish over here?”

Summary
The water ebbs around them, slow and tranquil, but the storm raging inside Will is anything but.
All he sees are Mike’s eyes as he closes the gap. A drop of water rolls down his neck, disappearing into the naked line of his collarbone.
“Say no if you don’t want me to,” he murmurs. “Push me back.”
Or, Will gets swept into Mike’s irresistible pull after a single night that changes their friendship forever. Late night talks turn into even later night kisses, friendly nudges to intoxicating touches, and the creaking of bedsprings now means something other than the return of Will's nightmares. Each new change blurs the line between friendship and something more, and as Will struggles to stay afloat through Mike's confusing storm, he starts wondering what it is exactly they are - and whether he'll sink for good in trying to find out.
