Thorin was (sadly) getting used to the headaches that came his way simply for being in the presence of the hobbit Gandalf had made them pick up.
That didn't mean he was getting used to the hobbit lass in question however.
Miss Bilbo Baggins had an uncanny (frustrating) ability to get what she wanted, it almost gave him hope for when they eventually got to Smaug.
If, of course, that same hobbit lass didn't get them shot through with arrows like a peculiar pincushion before they even made it out of Mirkwood.
