↓ Am I (21M) a sugar baby to my roommate (21M)?
My roommate and I have known each other since we're 13 years old. We met in middle school and at first we were in different groups of friends, but he and I were grouped together one day and we hit it off right away. We went to the same high school, so we decided to become roommates during university since we already knew each other. He's been a very good roommate and since we're friends, we do a lot of things together, like eating dinner when we're both at home. My friends were shocked when I told them about this because it looked very romantic, but I don't think it's possible because I'm plain and he's so popular, there's no reason why he'd like me. So I googled to ask what did those mean and somehow it led me to Sugar Daddy result. Here's the list of things he did:
- He cooks my favourite food at least once a week, or if he doesn't have time, he orders it from my favourite restaurant. Sometimes he sees me having a bad day, and he would buy me snacks or drinks. When I tried to do the same back, he said to spend my money for myself because he's worried about me (apparently I tend to neglect myself, he said, especially when I'm working). Google said sugar daddy would buy things for you, is that it?
- He's very attentive. He noticed my bag had a hole and the next day, there's a new bag waiting for me. The new bag is a sturdier one, but also more expensive. He also texts me a lot. Sometimes it's about funny anecdotes in work, sometimes it's a post that reminds him about me, sometimes it's just photos of food. He knows I don't message much, so he never expects me to reply, but those texts always help when I'm in a bad day. From some comments, it said some sugar daddies would be interested in you. This attention might be the way he shows he's interested?
- He also helps me a lot. One particular occasion is this: I'm a P.E. teacher and one of my jobs is to think about the new lessons. It stressed me out because it's my first job, but he helped me by asking his friends for ideas and stayed beside me all night. I don't know if this is relevant or not for sugar daddies, but maybe in the interested part too?
- Once I had trouble paying rent and he paid everything without complaint. I tried to return it, but he refused. I put it on his backpack when he didn't see, but the next day he brought take-aways from one of the expensive restaurants we've been wanting to try. I refused to eat but he said it'd just be a waste since he already bought it.
- I overheard his conversation with his friend. He said I was someone precious to him. If I am his sugar baby, that would fit the bill.
- He celebrates my birthday extravagantly. I don't particularly care about celebrating it, but even if I know he's going to be busy on my birthday, he always has time to take me out. So far we've been through with watching movie, ice skating, picnic, planetarium, aquarium, amusement park, famous restaurant, and a trip outside town just the two of us. Everything had been paid in advance by him, and any attempt to return (I transferred money to his bank account but he transferred it back) was thwarted.
- He went home drunk once. He saw me waiting for him and he hugged me and said "I wish you're mine.", then passed out. But I'm already his friend?
- We cuddle a lot. When we both have free time we would sit on the sofa, turn on netflix and watch whatever's popular. Then somehow or another we end up cuddling each other, sometimes to the point that we fall asleep until morning. I thought that it's normal, but one of the websites said sugar daddies expect intimacies as well, so I don't know if this is one of the intimacies or not.
- Talking about intimacies, I noticed he doesn't usually initiate physical contact with any people, but he likes to do that with me. He sometimes holds my hand in public or put his arm around my shoulder or ruffling my hair. It's not unwelcomed, but I'm confused why does he only do that to me? It makes sense if he only considers me and not his friends as sugar baby.
- We sleep in the same bed. We only have one bed from the beginning to save money, but we never have any problem since we're good friends. At first we kept to our side, but one day it got too cold and during sleep I turned over to his side and hugged him. When I woke up, my head was buried in his chest. He was still sleeping, but his arms were loosely wrapped around my waist. I felt bad so I moved to get away, but he woke up instead. He blinked a few times when he saw me and then smiled so widely before saying "You're so gorgeous.". He's not the type to smile often nor saying compliments, so I don't understand what does that mean. After this somehow we always wake up hugging each other.
- He looks at me differently like he does with his friend. Like the way a couple in the movie stares at each other, but more intense. I gave up deciphering and asked one day but he just blushed and said "It's because you're you." I still don't get it...
That's everything that I can think now. I just want to know if this is normal friendship or does he want to become a sugar daddy? I was told that I was oblivious at times and that I was mean for letting my roommate hanging if he meant to show something with these actions. Help.
Tl;dr my roommate is acting very attentive and spoils me a lot, is he trying to be my sugar daddy?

From what you've written, I think he clearly has some feelings with you (´⌣`ʃƪ) Maybe you can talk to him and ask whether it's platonic, romantic, or something else?
