Down a backstreet full of cramped bars and neon lights, past a string of shuttered shops and a 24/7 laundromat – it was dangerous down this way, well-known for the number of men who’d been murdered after working its corners. Young men. Beautiful men. Junkie men. Men who could be hired by the half-hour for a couple twenties.
