The sun was low in the sky when Gendry passed through the main gate on the stone curtain wall to emerge in the outer ward. Willow led the horses to the stable as he surveyed the grounds. The oaken keep was in worse shape than it had been before. The ward was much different too, filled with people and sounds now. Some two dozen men were training with sword and shield to his right, and Gendry could hear hounds barking in the kennels.
