It’s one thing to agree to run away with a charming English bookseller, and quite another to actually do it. Especially when A. J. Crowley has to worry about transatlantic tickets and international exchange rates and unpleasant memories of days gone by, and especially when it turns out that not everyone in London is very keen on his being there.

The author considers this an extended epilogue to their earlier work, The Treasure of Palenque. As much as I enjoyed the earlier work, I find this work more compelling, particularly the exploration of the characters.
