Touch Starved

Summary:

You show Akaza that cuddling is actually really nice.

Notes:

Trying something different than what I normally do, hope you like it!

Work Text:

“Already heading to bed? How cute~” Your tired eyes looked toward the door of your room where the muscled silhouette of a familiar pink-haired demon stood, grinning at you with sharp fangs that glinted in the low lighting. Unlike most people, you weren’t absolutely terrified at the sudden intrusion. You were used to these kinds of visits.

A lot of what had happened in your early life was a bit of a blur. There wasn’t much you could remember from outside your dwelling, aside from the times Muzan allowed you to leave (only with protection though). All you knew was that he supposedly “saved” you from cruel people. He never explained if he had anything planned for you or why he wouldn’t turn you into a demon, just that you were to stay in this home and obey his rules. That included putting up with these visits from demons like Akaza, the one who stood before you.

“Can’t say I miss sleeping. It seems like a waste of time, and you’re pretty much helpless when you’re asleep.” He leaned on the door frame, stretching himself out, “But whatever makes you happy, (Y/n) chan. You do look pretty cute when you’re sleepy and weak.” Your face warmed up before you looked toward your bedding. You couldn't help but feel like something was missing.

Throughout your interactions, you got pretty used to the Upper Moons personalities. The one you tended to have the most encounters with was actually Douma, Akaza being second to him. Douma tended to be rather cuddly and affectionate but kept his distance anytime you wanted. But you never knew how Akaza felt about those kinds of interactions, especially since most of the time he only played games with you and occasionally mocked you for losing. Calmly, you got up and walked over to him.

“Mm? What do you need?” Without responding, you grabbed him by the hand and led him to your bedding, sitting and pulling him down with you. There was no retaliation, not that you expected any though. You had almost no fear when interacting with the demons Muzan kept around. Sure, the younger demons terrified you with how vicious they could be, but the only one that ever lashed out at you was quickly dispatched. Akaza, Douma, Daki; it seemed that Muzan trusted them enough for you to be alone around them, and so you trusted that they wouldn’t hurt you.

“Uh, what are you-?” You laid your head on Akaza’s chest, throwing the comforter over the two of you. Despite the cold from his body, you were quickly getting comfortable on the Upper Moon. Meanwhile, he was trying to figure out what the hell to do with you. As much as he wanted to get up and get ready for a night of fighting, you just seemed so content resting on him. And a part of him wanted to stay just for the feeling of your warmth and the hugs, though he would never admit it.

But it wasn’t to last. After an hour or so, you were fast asleep while he gently slid out from under you and made sure you were comfortable. Thankfully, no one else had come by to see him like that. But even as he left, there was still something within him that wanted to recreate that moment he had with you. This time with zero chance for interruptions.
**************************************************************
“(Y/n) chan, follow me!” Before you even had time to greet Akaza, he had grabbed you by the hand and was rushing down the hall. He only bothered to slow down so he didn’t dislocate your arm. Even so, you spent more time being helplessly dragged than actually running with him. It wasn’t long before he yanked you into a room and shut the door behind him.

“W-whoa! What was that for?” You spun around to look at him and panted, leaning over to catch your breath. A chuckle came from him as he forced you to straighten your back.

“It’ll only hurt to breath like that. And why don’t you look behind you.” A small gasp came from you as you turned around. Before you was the biggest pillow and blanket nest you had ever seen. Some of them even looked familiar, like ones Douma owned. As you tried to guess where Akaza “borrowed” these from, you were once again pulled by him against your will. You landed with a gentle flop into the cozy nest, him settling next to you with a proud grin.

“I thought I might try sleeping with you, how do you like it?” You couldn’t help your giggling as you sat up. His eyes lit up in glee at your smile, and honestly the sight of him being so happy only made you laugh more. Even so, you were a little annoyed after he had just pulled you out of a chore you had been doing.

“Well, it’s nice, but it’s also the middle of the day, I’m not tired.” But as you tried to stand, Akaza reached out and pulled you close to him in a hug. There was no hint of malice in what he did, just…affection? It was a bit new for him, but he carefully held you tight against him with one arm wrapped around your neck and the other across your torso.

“Akaza sama, I’m not tired. And Muzan wants me to-“

“I’ll cover for you, now just rest.” An obviously exaggerated yawn came out of him as he laid back and pulled a comforter over both of you. Pretty soon he was (probably) faking being asleep while still holding onto you tightly like a teddy bear. Some time passed with you just accepting that the Upper Three was not going to let you go. Until a shadow just outside the door caught your eye.

“(Y/n) chan~! Where are you?” It was Douma, searching for you. Deciding this was a decent enough excuse to wiggle away from your captor, you began to carefully slide your way out of his arms. Only to be easily stopped by his arm clamped across your neck, holding you tighter. You swore you could even hear him growl under his breath as you were held closer to him. Eventually, Douma’s voice faded and Akaza’s grip loosened so you were more comfortable. Even if he wasn’t asleep, it was best you didn’t tempt fate. So, you quietly gave in, cuddling with the demon and taking a rather nice nap.

Feeling you relax in his arms made his heart soar for the first time in a long time. Your warmth, your breath, the way your eyebrows creased as if in thought while you slept in his arms. Everything about this interaction made him happy. He would get used to these day naps, much to the disappointment of your now disrupted sleep schedule.
