Summary
Above him and to his left, a light body plants itself on the mattress of his bed. The springs creak beneath them. Momota doesn’t move right away, still staring vacantly into his hands, only reacting when sneakered feet kick out in front of him, brushing against his arm.
“These games aren’t all that fun to win, are they?” The man who sat next to Momota has a young face but a tenor voice and dark violet eyes that glisten under the pale white lights. He doesn’t look at Momota, gaze affixed to the ceiling, but despite his words a small grin tugs at the corner of his mouth. “If I’d known I’d be playing such a violent game like this, I wouldn’t have signed up.”
Momota thinks he would’ve done the same, but even so… “You still came back.”
“Well, of course.” The man’s vibrant eyes dart down to meet Momota’s. That grin of his turns into more of a smirk. “Why wouldn’t I?”
