Liberty Nelson, a lawyer, wife, and mother, happily resides in the gorgeous neighborhood of Sanctuary Hills. The morning birds sing, red and orange leaves daintily fall from trees, and the scent of freshly-brewed coffee fills the kitchen. Liberty and her husband Augustus playfully tease one another at the counter as they talk about Halloween, both excited to celebrate the upcoming holiday with their newborn.
However, on that perfect day, October 23rd 2077, bombs would drop, and send the earth into a nuclear apocalypse.The young family thinks they're safe when they're ushered into an underground vault, but things go awry when Augustus is murdered, and their baby Shaun is kidnapped. After surviving such a tragedy, Liberty stumbles into the new world, one that's strange, confusing, and frighteningly unfamiliar to her. On a desperate quest to find her son, Liberty meets a young mercenary named MacCready. Knowing she can't survive the wasteland alone, she manages to hire him and take him on the journey of finding her child's kidnappers and husband's murderers.
Together, they work on moving forward.
