Rin has always acted based on how others would expect him to. Everyone sees Rin as this mysterious and aloof guy, and so Rin acts as mysterious and aloof as he can. Not like Rin's actual personality was far from that, Rin perceives himself just like how others perceive him, simple as that.
Sitting at the back part of the lecture hall, Rin takes an airpod off when his instructor arrives. His professor starts her class by announcing a project, a two-person project. Whispers can be heard all over the room, at that same moment Rin could feel his classmates' eyes on him. Rin's aware how most people would love to have him as a partner, although anti-social, Rin, for the most part, does his part and oftentimes, does the entire assignment if he could. When the instructor starts to call out whose partner is whose, Rin wears his airpods once again waiting for the lucky person who got him as a partner to come sit next to him.
Turns out it was Rin's lucky day, right in front of him was Isagi Yoichi who was currently waving his hand in front of his face. Finally getting Rin's attention, Isagi stops waving his hand and instead he gives Rin a bright smile.
"Hi I'm Isagi Yoichi, an architecture student and I'm your partner" Isagi says, as he offers his right hand.
Rin takes both his airpods off, before offering his own hand to shake Isagi's "Itoshi Rin, electronics engineering student"
Rin saw Isagi for the first time back when he was in his last year of high school, his school had this outreach program together with Isagi's school.
Rin loves kids and babies, unfortunately kids do not share the same sentiment as Rin. For obvious reasons a lot of kids tend to have a hard time and take a long time to warm up with Rin, after all he's the type of person parents use to scare their children off of when they're throwing a tantrum.
After he had finished his tasks he decided to go to where the children were. He knew someone was tasked to take care of the children, what he didn't expect was for that person to be cute, very very cute actually, and seeing that person be surrounded with children basically be loved by them all, it was a view that would get anyone clutching their chest. Rin knew he would only destroy such a beautiful moment if he approached them, so he settled with just staring. Apparently he stared long enough for the guy to notice him.
"I could use some help you know" the guy said as gestured at the kids surrounding him
"Oh I would but kids seem to not like me"
"Says who" and the guy started to tug Rin closer to the kids as he explained how Rin is a good mister who would play with them 'til the sun sets.
Rin was still gasping for air, downing his second water bottle, when he felt a tug on his pants. There he saw a little girl, the same girl who only sat on the corner while everyone played
Not knowing what to do, Rin asked "Yes, what is it?". He was answered by arms being held up, it was the first time a kid willingly asked Rin for upsies so he gladly scooped the little girl with his arms.
Rin decided to walk the kid around teaching her what kind of flower they were looking at, looking up at the clouds trying to make out shapes and figures. Rin wondered if the little girl enjoyed being with him. It seemed like he didn't even have to wonder because by the time they were back the kid was still giggling, smiling widely at him. Rin couldn't help but squish their cheeks together, something he had always wanted to do everytime he sees a kid.
At that moment he felt someone's eyes on them so Rin scanned the area, there he saw the cute guy who's staring at them with a smile on his face "I heard it was time for your school to go" the guy muttered when Rin raised an eyebrow on him
Rin, once again, pressed his and the little girl's cheeks before he put her down then held her hands, guiding the little girl to where the other kids were.He quickly bid the little girl and the other kids goodbye before going to where the cute guy was. Rin outstretched his hands to which the guy accepted, he gave him a smile, as he quickly muttered a thank you before he dashed to where his school bus is.
Rin was pulled back from his trance when he felt a tap on his shoulder "Earth to Rin?"
"Sorry, what were you saying?"
"Nothing, you know I've been meaning to ask you, but have I seen you somewhere you kinda look familiar"
Rin couldn't come up with an excuse with how his heart definitely leaped with the thought that Isagi still remembers him from the outreach program. Isagi had a focused look trying so hard to remember why Rin was so familiar and at the moment Rin was about to bring up the outreach program, Isagi starts to talk
"Back when we were just high schoolers" Rin couldn't help but lean a bit as he nods
"Aren't you that guy?" Isagi says, punching his nose bridge as if that would help him remember.
"Wait, I remember it! You're definitely that guy" The expression Isagi made when he figured it out made Rin happier than he probably should be, he can't help but mirror the smile Isagi was wearing.
"You're definitely that guy who stepped on dog poop and slipped on it"
To say Rin felt like he's world had collapsed from that was a complete understatement.
This traumatizing, embarrassing event, that still made Rin awake at wee hours, had happened back when he was in his first year.
Silently bopping to whatever music was being played that moment, Rin walked through the park with a hand on his pocket, trying to look cool until he stepped on to something that definitely squished under his shoe. Praying to whomever god was looking down at him at that moment, Rin silently hoped it was a ball or any toy before lifting his shoe.
Just as Rin expected it was dog shit, of course he had to step on dog shit while he was wearing his white sneakers. Rin could've just walked off, cleaned his shoe and call it a day but no, 1st yr high school Rin had to jump around in disgust with his still wet-from-dog-poo shoe that in return made him slip, now, not only does he gave to worry about the poo in his shoe, he also has to worry about the poop that was on his hands
Rin hadn't even fully grasped what had happened when he heard a muffled laugh, Rin looked up only to see a guy, not older than him, with his hands on his mouth, giggling at the mess that was in front of him. He probably felt guilty because now he was walking towards Rin with arms outstretched, about to help him, when Rin decided to run away. Rin bolted faster than he had ever ran, with dog poo still on his hand as the guy just stood there, looking at Rin.
That still made Rin want to bang his head on the nearest wall and of course Isagi, the person who Rin had the slightest crush on, had to be that person who witnessed that.
It takes all of Rin's might not to bang his head on the table Isagi and him is currently sharing "If you're that guy who was giggling at me while I was trying to figure out how to get rid of the poo on my hands, then yes you got the right guy"
Isagi, who was about to say something, had to pause when the bell rang, signaling that the class was over. Rin stands up so fast, ignoring the whiplash he got from doing so.
"Hey, are you free at 5 pm later?" Isagi asks stopping Rin by grabbing the hem of his jacket, Rin nods as an answer.
Ten minutes in, Isagi had never brought 'that' incident again. They are currently in a cafe near their campus, Isagi was already there and when Rin sat down after he got his coffee, Isagi immediately started to tell him about the ideas he had for their project.
After he asked for Rin's schedule, they were able to plan when and where they'll make their project. Both of them don't have classes at 4 pm on Mondays and Thursdays so they decided to do their project on those days still at the cafe they were in.
Rin usually initiates the planning but Isagi was so full of ideas that by the end of their meeting they've already finished planning everything.
"You still haven't finished your coffee" Isagi points at the coffee that was on the table as they were cleaning up, readying to go.
Rin slings his bag on his shoulder "I was already full" he says before he starts to walk to the door.
"Rin" Rin stops, hearing his name being called out. He looks back and of course it was Isagi. "You're going home right? Do you mind walking home with me?"
Although all he can remember every time he sees Isagi is that horrendous memory, Rin shrugs "Not really"
Upon hearing that, Isagi smiles "So which building is your dorm room in"
Apparently they live in the same building except Isagi lives on a floor higher than Rin's. Arriving at Rin's floor, Rin once again felt Isagi's hand gently grabbing the hem of his jacket.
"You know that was kind of an asshole move of me to bring the whole dog poo thing up and I'm really sorry that was insensitive of me" Isagi says it ever so hushed, afraid someone might hear it and Rin could feel the genuineness of it
It was as if Isagi pulled him out of the chaos that was Rin's insides he himself had caused, Rin nods "Just don't bring it up again, it was honestly not one of my coolest moment" and with that Rin starts to walk not without giving Isagi a small smile, that must've worked because Isagi smiles widely before walking up the stairs to where his room was.

Just like their first meeting, Rin arrives later than Isagi. Just as he was about to put his bag down, Rin notices the two hot chocos that were already on their table.
Rin asks Isagi about who the other hot choco was for. "It's for you of course"
"But I prefer coffee" No he doesn't, Rin loves a warm choco. It made him wanna curl up in his bed and reminisce about his childhood.
"Sure, but if it makes you comfortable you literally don't have to keep your cool persona with me"
And Rin does, it's not like Rin doesn't even try to keep that image, it's just that everytime he does, Isagi just gives him a look that basically says 'there you go again playing cool'. Besides, there was something about Isagi and his whole personality that makes Rin comfortable, too comfortable it seems.

It's been three weeks since they started making their project and there were two weeks left before the project's submissions. By this time, an hour that was supposed to be spent continuing the said project became two, and three hours sometimes lasted long enough for both Rin and Isagi to eat dinner together, sometimes eating outside the walls of the cafe, oftentimes opting to just eat a sandwich or a cake the cafe offers.
They don't even truly spend all that time to continue their project, the other half of the time are usually spent just chatting with each other, or finishing any other homeworks they have. Because of this Isagi discovers a lot about Rin, more than he probably should have, not like Rin minds. As Isagi learns more about Rin, Rin does the same, he gets the chance to know Isagi more.
For a small moment Rin thinks the little feelings he had for Isagi vanished, the moment he brought that dog poo incident but the more he gets closer to Isagi the more he couldn't help but gain more attraction for the said boy.
"Look what I got you!" Rin could hear Isagi's excitement with his voice.
Rin doesn't even look up, continuing what he was doing "Again?"
"Hey! Aren't you glad you have a very generous best friend” Did Isagi just best-friendzoned Rin? Also since when did Isagi refer to himself as Rin's best friend
"Besides, it's not like I try not to it's just that I can't help but buy everything that reminds me of you, which is a lot by the way considering I remember you in the very smallest things" Rin tries to stop the warmth that was creeping on his neck and ears before finally looking up. Best friends his ass.
When Rin looks up, he sees Isagi grinning, a small box on his left hand. He's proposing to you , Rin mentally smacks his inside voice. Rin takes it and doesn't comment on how red Isagi's own ears were.
A pair of earrings were what was inside that small box, it was a pair of star shaped diamond studs with gold outlining it. Rin had to take a moment to appreciate how pretty it was. Rin doesn't even try to smile as he looks back at Isagi, who has been staring at him.
"I noticed how both of your ears were pierced and happened to pass by that, it was too pretty not to buy and I can't think of anyone else that suits it better than you do"
Rin couldn't express how thankful he was since he never was good with words, instead he smiled, the biggest he had ever smiled. It seems that what Rin did made Isagi even more embarrassed because now he couldn't even look straight at Rin.
This was just one of the few things Isagi got for Rin.
It started with Isagi buying Rin's hot choco, or a sandwich with it. Then one day, Isagi comes with a paper bag, promptly giving it to Rin. Inside it were three blue pens that had those fluffy balls on top of it, a pencil case with stars printed on it, bookmarks that had cheesy motivational quotes on it, and for some reasons 10 children's storybook (Rin definitely does not read one before going to bed, definitely not)
Isagi just tells him how he remembered Rin saying he likes the color blue, the stars and how Rin likes kids while he was buying his own school supplies, so he bought things that reminded him of Rin. From then on, every week Isagi comes with something for Rin.
A week after Rin had rambled about how perfect cows were, how everything about them is so cute, from their spots, ears, round eyes and their very boopable nose, Isagi comes in later than usual with a huge bag that he later on handed to Rin. Inside it was a cow stuffed toy, ever since then Rin sleeps with the said cow, deciding it was now his favorite thing. Rin doesn't even stop the whispers inside his head, how they definitely look like a couple from the outside perspective.
While Rin tries to wear the earring, Isagi just looks at him with his big round stupidly sparkling eyes, it takes everything in Rin not to kiss that stupid grin off of Isagi's stupid pretty face.
"Ha! I knew it would look perfect on you" true to Isagi's word, the earrings do look pretty.
"Hey Rin, if you could go to space and for an indefinite amount of time, what would you do?"
Isagi has the kind of look that makes Rin's heart beat faster than it's supposed to, which is stupid hearts don't do that, it's all just in the brain, Rin knows
"I'd steal the entire universe for you"
And really it's one of if not the stupidest thing that had ever came out of Rin's mouth but the look Isagi's currently wearing looks like he too would-
"I'd do the same" Oh.
"But you already hold them with those eyes of yours"
With that Rin laughs, the kind of laugh that got Rin wheezing and gasping for air, one of his hands clutching his stomach while the other wipes for the tears that were falling from Rin’s eyes. Really, it could've been the most romantic scene, something out of a movie if only Isagi shuts up, which he doesn't.
Rin rarely laughs that hard, hasn't laughed that hard in front of someone and that goes on for minutes. People from the nearby tables give Rin concerned looks but Rin doesn't care as he laughs his heart out.
"I don't know how you managed to say that without a tinge of regret and embarrassment, it should be considered a talent"
Isagi's giving him that funny look again and Rin knows he's about to say something heart-pounding or something stupid.
"Oh I was embarrassed for a second, but that laughing fit you had just made everything worth it"
Heart-pounding it is.

"Gonna pull an all-nighter?" Rin asks as he approaches him and Isagi's table, pointing at the coffee besides Isagi.
Isagi just gives him a tired nod, both his eyes sporting dark bags underneath it.
It was a week before the project's submission and they were already done with it, both deciding to spend their hell weeks together. The table was now fully covered with a mess of piled papers, left-opened notebooks, laptops, ballpens and all the sorts.
"What about you Rin? Will you accompany my sleepless adventures?" Poor Isagi can't even last a minute without yawning.
Rin opts to nod as answer, planning to buy himself a coffee after finishing the hot choco that was already on their table, courtesy of Isagi.
They soon fell into a comfortable silence, keyboards clicking, sighs after taking a sip of coffee or hot choco, scribbling on notebooks, other customers' chatter were the sounds that filled the room.
Rin looks up, only to see Isagi with furrowed eyebrows. He's clearly having a hard time over an assignment and Rin almost feels bad until he comes up with something.
He grabs the chocolate bar that was inside his bag, some junior gave him earlier that day. Instead of giving it immediately to Isagi, he scribbles a little note on the black space that was at the back of the chocolate, something that was meant for tiny notes. He immediately goes to the counter after sliding the chocolate besides were Isagi's coffee was.
Rin stands still behind the counter waiting for his coffee, of course he could wait at their table but he'd rather see Isagi's reaction far from said boy.
The way Isagi beamed after seeing the note Rin wrote seeped all of the tiredness Rin felt at that moment. Maybe I should do that more often
Rin comes back to his seat, black coffee in one of his hands. The moment Isagi hears a slight ruffling of chairs, he looks up at Rin while grinning so widely.
"What's this about?" Isagi asks, lifting the chocolate bar and Rin sees PS: you're doing well already:) that he wrote earlier
"Nothing, just felt like encouraging you" Rin didn't know it was even possible but Isagi smiles wider and Rin thinks Yes, I'd definitely do that more often from now on.
They fell into a comfortable silence once again, Rin drinking his coffee silently, absentmindedly forgetting something.
Everything seems to have passed so quickly, suddenly there was a thumb ghostly pressing the sides of his lips, he hears Isagi ask if he was alright before blacking out.
Rin wakes up with a searing headache accompanied by a pain in the neck, probably from crouching down.
"How long was I out? What time is it?" Rin asks
"Rin, hi. You were out for like two hours and it's like 8 pm already" Isagi says looking up from his laptop to look at where Rin is, Rin groans
"By the way, your ranting about cows, stars and constellations, has been the highlight of my month" And Rin groans even louder. Rin gets drunk off of coffee, yes, it's not like he could do anything about it. It was gradually becoming tamer not until he had stopped drinking coffee courtesy of Isagi ordering hot choco for him.
Rin stays silent, rubbing his temples to help alleviate the headache.
Isagi reaches out for his temples, removing Rin's hands and instead rubs Rin's temples for him "Let me do it for you" and for some reason it feels so good, Rin internally sighs a big sigh.
That went on for a minute 'til Rin tells Isagi the pain had gone away. Isagi's hands stay still before one of them sweeps Rin's bangs, Isagi leans closer, smiling at Rin before he kisses Rin's forehead just as gently as his smile. With that Isagi returns to his original position.
Rin would like to think of himself as a rational person, but all of that rationality had left his body because after what seemed a short-circuiting inside his brain, Rin finds himself drinking out of his already empty coffee cup.
"You're hair, they're getting kinda long" Isacgi shifts the topic so smoothly Rin gets a whiplash
"Well, yeah, it's been a month since I last cut it" Rin tries to mirror Isagi's cool demeanor.
A while after that whole incident, Isagi takes Rin home saying how Rin must be exhausted.
"I'm really sorry for how coffee-drunken me acted" Rin apologizes once again
"I'm telling you it's really fine besides just like what I told you, it was the loveliest thing I've witnessed this month"
Holy shit how does Isagi Yoichi do this
"You- Do you do that all the time?"
"Do what?" Isagi asks genuinely confused
"I don't know, kiss your friends' foreheads" If Isagi noticed how red Rin's ears were he doesn't say anything about it.
"Huh? Oh. Uhh yea sure yep I sure do love kissing my homies foreheads for no reason at all haha" Isagi says, his hand rubbing the back of his head
"I mean if you're not comfortable with that-" "No! It's not like that"
Rin doesn't usually cut people off so Isagi looks at him kind of surprised
"I'm just curious that's all, I totally don't mind getting" Isagi smiles again and Rin couldn't help but pause for a bit just to admire that goddamn beautiful smile "...kisses"
"Well then" Isagi once again cups Rin's face, pressing a kiss on Rin's forehead, this time it lasted longer than the one's on the cafe "Good night Rin"
Rin tries and utterly fails to say it back just as cool as Isagi had said it, quickly waving a hand not looking back at where Isagi was rooted.
Damn, for a moment their faces were so close, too close Rin almost thought of kissing Isagi then running away as fast as he could. As he closes his door Rin wonders what would've happened if he did kiss Isagi.
"Is it gay for a bro to kiss a homie's forehead?"
"What?"
Rin takes a deep breath, tries so hard to hide his embarrassment through the phone "I said is it gay for someone to kiss his bro's forehead"
It was 2 am and Rin has been shuffling around his bed trying to get that memory of Isagi's lips on his forehead to no avail, so he decides to ask Sae?
"First off since when did you start talking like that? Who is this bro whom you've kissed? And isn't it like 3 there? You have a 7 am class Rin" Rin could hear Sae currently shaking his head.
"I've been influenced, I don't really talk that way. No I'm not the one who kissed someone, it's someone I know who's definitely not me okay. It's 2 am but I uhh missed you?"
Sae sighs "I missed you too Rin"
They're not literally the most sentimental people out there but it's been a year since Sae came home, Rin does miss him but he didn't call his brother for that
"Okay back to my question is it gay to kiss a friend's forehead niichan ?"
"I mean, were they naturally affectionate? If they do that to everyone of course it doesn't mean anything, if they don't there's no way it's not uhh gay " Sae uttering the last word hushed for some reason
"He said he does that to all of his friends"
"He could've just said that to not seem suspicious you know" and with that Rin groans
"So who's this guy who kissed you Rin?"
"No one, I'm going to sleep bye love you niichan come back soon"
" Love you too Rin , see you soon" Rin could feel Sae's small smile, smiling. Rin was about to end the call when Sae started to talk again.
"You have Ryuu's number right, he's much more knowledgeable than I am. You should call him"
Rin does
"Hey eyelash junio-"
"Is it gay-"
"Is what gay?" Shidou says sounding curious
"Is it gay if you kissed a friend's forehead" Rin fights the urge to bang his head on his night table.
"I mean I am gay so yeah it's definitely gay if I did" and oh god Rin forgets, totally forgets the fact that he doesn't even know if Isagi swings that way
"Oh cool, thank you"
"For what-"
"For coming out I don't know goodbye" Rin says quickly ending the call.
Before going to bed Rin concludes he should stay away, keep some distance from Isagi.
Which is going so well, it's currently their final exams week and it's been almost two weeks since he last saw Isagi. It's going too well Rin's starting to lose his mind, fuck this distancing shit Rin's absolutely bombing it.
Distance makes the heart grow fonder his mind supplies, he wonders if at some point he crossed Isagi's mind. Even if they did text each other daily still Rin wished he could see or at the very least hear Isagi right now.
It's 3 am and maybe what he'll regret what he was about to do when he wakes up but right now Rin thinks fuck it and was about to press call on Isagi's contact before his own phone starts ringing.
Isagi Yoichi, the screen says. Rin picks up the call not without giving his cow a few light punches and squishes, for extra courage he thinks.
" Hello? "
" Hey" Isagi's voice has always been gentle but tonight Isagi's voice might be what they meant when they say an angel's voice, he could forever fall asleep with that voice, Rin thinks.
"Did I wake you up?" Isagi asks, voice still hushed.
"No, I was doing something" I was thinking of you
"Did you need something, Yoichi?" Rin carefully asks, testing waters
" Holy shit " for a moment Rin felt nervous, thinking maybe that was a wrong move
"Please do call me that from now on" Rin smiles a little too widely, patting himself in the back
"Well, Yoichi, Did you need something?"
"No, just wanted to wish you luck Rin"
"You too, I'm sure you're doing well already but good luck" Rin says, hoping that encourages Isagi even a bit.
"It was nice hearing your voice Rin, I missed you" jesus christ
"It was nice hearing yours too, Good night Yoichi"
"Good night, Rin"
Rin sleeps a little too well that night and wakes up in a good mood for someone who only had three hours of sleep. Checking his phone for the time, Rin sees a notification from Isagi.
See you on Saturday?
Rin definitely can't wait.
Yeah, See you
Saturday morning, Rin wakes up in an awfully good mood. Still having the rest of the morning and noon, Rin spends it by lazing around the couch, catching up with Sae, reruns of The Office playing on his TV and before Rin knows it was already 3 pm.
A quarter before 4, Rin finds himself in front of the cafe and when Rin enters the cafe, Isagi still wasn't in there so he takes the table they usually sit in.
"Hi"
The things that voice does to him, Rin looks back, lo and behold Isagi Yoichi, the man behind most of his sleepless nights. After saying hi, Isagi goes to the counter to order their drinks while Rin just scrolls through his phone waiting for Isagi.
As usual Isagi comes back smiling, two hot chocos in his hands. What wasn't familiar was a tiny sticky note sticked on Rin's choco
You're pretty today the notes says and Rin rolls his eyes
"You could've just said that in front of me you know" Rin says as he bites his cheek in an attempt to stop himself from smiling.
"Oh but what am I if not a little romantic right?" Rin jokingly groans at that to which Isagi just laughed at.
Conversations flow easily as they catch up with what has happened the past week. They spent the whole afternoon chatting, lightly bickering with each other. Before they knew it, the sun had already set and it was time to go home.
Just like usual they walk home together, Rin slides both his hands in his pocket, afraid that if he had let everything go and actually just take and hold Isagi's own hand.
"I had a blast, it was nice seeing you after hell week Rin."
"I had fun too"
"Good bye, Yoichi" Rin still feels the jitters just like when he first said it.
Instead of saying it back, Isagi just stares at him. He's got the look that says he's holding something back.
"Did you want to say something?"
Isagi just wordlessly cupped Rin's face before planting a kiss on his forehead.
"There, goodbye Rin" for the first time it was Isagi who walked out first.

Still feverish with this afternoon's meeting, Rin finds himself watching a random romance anime on his couch. Just then the power goes out, not even bothering to fish the flashlight inside of one of his cupboards, Rin continues his anime.
He suddenly hears his phone ring all across his room, he decides to ignore it not until his laptop shuts down because of course Rin forgot to charge it. Rin regrets not fishing that flashlight earlier because now he has to go from his couch to his room in pitch black darkness.
Spluttering curses every time he crashes with something, Rin finally could see the light from his ringing phone. He picks up the call, not even bothering to see who was calling him.
“Hello?” Rin answers, taking a seat on his bed.
“Hi Rin” unconsciously, Rin sits straight upon hearing that voice.
“Isagi?”
“Yeah, can you come outside real quick?” Isagi asks
Still with his phone by his ear, Rin fumbles to find the flashlight inside his cabinets. Rin grabs his front door, fast, afraid he might miss something. As he turns to where the stairs are, he sees Isagi.
Just as he was about to start walking, Isagi holds up a hand as if telling Rin not to, so Rin stops.
Rin takes his phone when he notices Isagi about to start talking.
“-like you”
“What?”
“I like you Rin” Isagi confesses almost breathlessly, with that Rin forgets how breathing works.
“I suddenly had this courage to spill my guts. Seeing you jump and slip that day, I thought it was just a one-time thing like any other crushes I had but I saw you again on that outreach program. You had a little girl scooped in your arms while smiling, that was and still is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.”
Isagi pauses for a bit before taking a breath “Then we became project partners and I quickly learned how your smile isn’t even the most beautiful thing you have. I swore to be as discreet as I could, which I failed so miserably but I don’t regret it, I don’t think I ever will. So I’m here, gathering every courage I have just to let you know how I feel.”
“I-”
“You don’t have to say anything Rin, I just wanted to let you know, is all”
And Rin groans because his shit at talking “Will you please let me talk, Yoichi?” Rin says, trying to mirror Isagi’s gentleness.
“I do feel the same, well I’m not sure if it’s as much as you do but I do know I like you too.” Rin wants so badly to run away right now not until he sees Isagi wear that goddamn smile.
“Then will you date me?” Isagi asks before he starts to walk closer to where Rin was, pressing the button to end the call.
Even with the distance Rin can hear Isagi loud and clear“Of course you can refuse but now that I heard you say you like me back I don’t think I can not not date you. Also, you don’t have to like me as much as I like you”
Rin’s heart beat matching the pace of every step Isagi takes
“I’d be the luckiest, that’s if you’d have me of course” Isagi says softly, stopping in front of Rin/
“Hi” Isagi smiles
“Hey” and there was something about the way Isagi looks under the moonlight that takes away Rin’s breath.
There was a pause before Rin decided to speak up
“Then” Rin starts.
“Please do take care of me well” Rin asks before bowing.
Rin looks up when he feels a hand on the side of his face, Rin stays in his position as Isagi starts to talk.
“I wonder” Isagi says, staring straight back at him, Rin quirks an eyebrow.
“I wonder if I’d feel your eyelashes flutter shut if I kissed you?” Rin can’t even process what Isagi had said when he feels another hand cupping the other side of his face.
Stopping when they’re already centimeters away, Isagi smiles before closing the distance, unconsciously, Rin closes his eyes.
Feeling a light peck just at the side of his cheeks, Rin opens his eyes just to find Isagi already staring at him, widely grinning.
Isagi once again closes their distance except now Isagi does kiss him on his lips. They stayed at that position, Isagi crouching down while Rin was still in the position he was in when he was bowing. Rin feels Isagi’s smile against his own lips, pressing another light peck on Rin’s lips, Isagi stands straight back up again.
Isagi must’ve taken all of Rin’s strength with him because the moment Isagi let’s go of Rin’s face, Rin immediately falls face first on the floor.
“Rin!” Isagi screams before kneeling, holding Rin’s shoulder.
Once again Isagi cups Rin’s face to make Rin look at him.
“Your nose is bleeding, oh my god Rin. Let’s get you cleaned up” Isagi says as he guides Rin to where his room is.
On cue, the power goes back as they enter Rin’s room. Now they’re currently sitting at Rin’s couch in the living room, Isagi still holding Rin’s chin while the other holds the ice pack against Rin’s nose that had stopped bleeding.
“I’m really really sorry Rin” Isagi splutters even though Rin has repeatedly said it was all good. Rin can’t even act upset not when Isagi kisses his nose ‘for the booboo to go away’.
Maybe Rin doesn’t mind Isagi seeing all of his embarrassing sides because if not Isagi who else?
