AITA for trying to set up my lab partner on a date and AITA in general??

I (28M) and my lab partner (29M) have been working with each other for 2+ years. He never seems to leave the lab and seems to have little to no social life except for me. We have had an assistant (24F) who has shown interest in a relationship with him. Either he is completely oblivious to her interest or is purposefully ignoring her, so I recently set them up on a date. My lab partner came back to our shared home fuming, which is rare for him to be so visibly angry. He has been avoiding talking to me and is currently staying with his childhood friend (20F)
EDIT: I recently found out he was gay, and he has now moved back in with me he now feels more comfortable to bring over dates. I now feel mad??? AND I DON’T KNOW WHY?? My girlfriend is also upset at me for leaving her after sex to go check on him after he got admitted to the hospital.
EDIT PART TWO: My girlfriend, or now ex girlfriend dumped me saying that I should go after my lab partner???
