   Summary

   Six months after the events of On the Edge of the Devil's Backbone, both the Imperial Service and the fledgling Rebel Alliance are dealing with the repercussions of the defection of former ISB agent Hera Syndulla, the Inquisitor once known as the Hunter's Hound, and their crew. The near-destruction of the Inquisition has created opportunities for the handful of Force-users remaining in the galaxy, opportunities that could have deadly consequences for everyone. For Cham Syndulla and the Free Ryloth fleet, a chance meeting offers the Twi'lek rebels the opportunity to go somewhere Cham thought they would never go again: Ryloth. And for Hera Syndulla and Kanan Jarrus, struggling with their place in the universe, may come a choice: the Empire, the Rebellion, the Force...or each other.
