Stede slips two fingers around it. He doesn’t even have to tug, and Ed’s breath hitches. “Stay still, Ed.”
Ed whimpers against Stede’s knee. “C’mon!”
“You’re being very distracting, which means it’s taking me longer to finish this chapter.”
Ed is silent for a moment, and Stede keeps reading while his two fingers press against Ed’s neck. “And what are you gonna do when you’ve finished the chapter?” Ed asks.
“Depends on you, doesn’t it?” Stede asks. “Are you going to behave?”
