Light ushers his emo (boy)friend on a beautiful Sunday morning into his new, affordable 2023 Mercedes-Benz, an all-new electric sedan.
L plunks himself into the passenger's seat. "So Light, how could you possibly pay for such a luxurious vehicle?" L asks bluntly while still highly perplexed.
"Well you see, Daddy Yagami was rather pleased by my recent tennis achievements and forked over the amount of money needed to purchase this vehicle, even though he had been facing quite the financial burden himself," Light chuckles to himself, "My mother and sister were quite distraught by my so-called 'careless' spending," Light smirks mischievously.
Light hoped that his narcissistic feat would anger L.
"Okay," said L all emotion leaving his features.
"Drat! He didn't take the bait," Light thought to himself, "I was planning that while L was in a blind fit of rage regarding how I acted towards my family's financial situation, I would gracefully steal his ID from his purse."
"No dice, eh," Ryuk emerges from the back seat, "such a shame that eight hours of planning went to waste."
Light slams his fist against the speedometer with murder on his mind, resulting in his broken speedometer.
"I see," L remarks to himself, "Light has always been quite the odd duck, but he has been acting more abrasive than usual."
"Oh sorry about that," Light scratches the back of his neck coyly, "I'm just so excited to see Morbius for the eighth time this week!"
"Morbius?" L and Ryuk yelled inquisitively, "I thought we were seeing Sonic the Hedgehog 2!"
"What are you talking about?" Light scoffs, "the only actual film playing at the Cinemark theater is Jared Leto's Morbius! I personally relate to the main character Michael Morbius' struggles of having an inner demon that wants to be set free, along with the fact that Jared Leto is my favorite actor."
Ryuk begins to sob as he had been looking forward to Sonic 2. He thought that Knuckles and Tails would make a fine addition to the film series as well as the fact that he had thoroughly enjoyed Jim Carrey's Robotnik from the first film along with James Marsden's portrayal of Tom. L remained straight-faced although he had also been looking forward to seeing Sonic 2.
Light put the pedal to the metal as his genuine excitement to see Morbius once again grew more and more by the second.
They finally arrived at the Cinemark. Light parked the car, very crookedly, and hopped out of his Mercedes. L and Ryuk glumly arise from their cushy seats not knowing the horrors that will ensue.
They walk into the theater and the buttery popcorn smell wafts into all of their noses.
Light walks up to the cash register. "Just water for me," he says to the cashier.
L places three packages of sour patch kids, six packages of Swedish Fish, and 2 packages of airheads extremes on the counter.
"Are you sure that's enough, fatty?" Light sneers at L hoping to salvage his plan from earlier.
"You know what..." L stammers. Light is giddy with anticipation, gearing up to see L's reaction. "I forgot to order a cup of sweet cola." L remarks.
"0 for 2!" Ryuk guffaws.
"Yeah, yeah Ryuk, now what would you like to eat?" Light asks.
"Some apples!" Ryuk exclaims.
"They obviously don't sell apples here dummy." Light whisper shouts.
"Well, then how about some popcorn?" Ryuk exclaims.
"Okay, uh, and one small popcorn." Light says to the cashier.
"Ah popcorn, I did not take you like the popcorn type," L says.
Light instinctively snarls at L.
"Oh sorry, I meant that I have not had popcorn in a while, so I would like to have it again," Light responds sweetly.
Then, the group takes their seats in the theater and Light shakes with anticipation. Then, the movie opens with the giant 'M' fading into the word 'Morbius.' Light hoots and hollers, while clapping his hands. L merely sighs.
However, Ryuk can not take the splendor of Morbius so he dashes out of the theater, screaming that he needs to get away from the theater at all costs. He is merely running with no end in sight; running rampant through the mall trying to escape Morbius. Which store could be his safe haven from the blood-sucking creature? It was then that he stood in front of his favorite store, Hot Topic!!!
