    After Vecna is killed, the gates don't open. The Byers and El move back to Hawkins after Hopper is found. Eddie is alive and proven innocent. Everyone is back together again. Except for one. Max is still in a coma. Though most of her body is healed, she hasn't awoken. El and Lucas have been at her side through every free minute they have. The two have gotten closer during this time, sharing a mutual love for Max and maybe each other.
